^^^ Yeah, the Back-up QB, & Back-up Running Back factor, & them still driving for a TD, was most impressive. The Have a bunch of Heart & want to win. Congrats to them. -
^^^^ Scott - mistakes were made on both sides of the ball.
Colts were ahead 24-21 and the Chargers came down the field with a backup QB and a backup RB and scored the winning TD. They then stopped the Colts offense twice. Colts didn't lose this...Chargers won it plain and simple. They wanted it more.
Now when they played during the regular season in SD, the Colts lost that game by missing the game-winning chip-shot field goal

I'm not so sure it was that the Chargers won as the Colts lost. A fumble and 2 intersections in the red zone certainly didn't help the Colts cause. But it's the 17th game of the year and you're making pre-season mistakes. You can't expect to win doing that. But the Bolts came to play. And the backups for Rivers and LT did a nice job and didn't do anything stupid. I just don't think the Chargers will get past the Pats.
As for the Gaints/Cowboys I was thrilled that the Giants won. Eli played a great game and didn't force anything and had no interceptions again. He plays like that against the Packers and they might have a chance.
My Redskins finished on a high note for next year by at least making the playoffs. I'm sorry to see Gibbs leave though. He will be tough to replace.Leave a comment:

Yeah, so many of the Colts fans I know went out of their way to "Thank" me when they signed Vinateri to a whopping contract. Not so many replied when I sent a big "You're Welcome" after he tanked that 29 yard chip shot to win a game during the season. So a New Englander won the PP&K too. I'm not surprised. New England sports rule!! They're talking about it on the Boston Sports Radio shows. People are calling in and asking the team to bring her in this week and introduce her at halftime. Instead of booing her they should have signed her to a contract. Maybe she could have helped in the second half.
It's funny how people change their opinion of you when you're at the top.
They should have let that cameraman keep filming in that first game cuz since they got rid of him the Pats haven't lost. Looks like it affected the rest of the league a lot more than the Pats.
HMMMMM!!!! Makes ya wonder why so many other coaches were PO'd at Mangini for what he did. Seems to have affected the rest of the league quite a bit. Temp is supposed to reach a high of 12 degrees next Sunday in Foxboro. Just a tad cooler than San Diego. Better bring your hat and mittens. Loved it when one of the Charger players was walking off the field and looks right into the camera and says "New England better watch out next week". Nothing better than having some motivation thrown at ya. That will be posted on every wall in the Pats locker room. 17-0 and still no respect. I love it!

Well being a Skins fan I really didn't care who won between the Giants and Cowboys since I hate them almost equally Dallas more so just because of the bitter rivalry.
I don't know what happened to Romo. He looked like a superstar at the beginning of the season and has looked terrible in the last few games. I know the Skins-Cowboys games was meaningless for the Cowboys but he looked horrible. I'll be interested to see if they stick with him or opt for some type of trade since they are an otherwise solid team.
The good thing about the Redskins at least, is they have never had a superstar quarterback, not back to probably Sonny Jurgensen. Under Gibbs, they figured out ways to win without a superstar QB. Jason Campbell shows signs of breaking out but I'm on the fence about him. He has an incredibly strong arm and makes some fantastic passes but also makes a lot of mistakes.
Well, at least I respect fans that stick with their teams through thick and thin and jump on the latest bandwagon.
One sport that New England can't seem to do anything in is Soccer (not that many people care). They lost two straight MLS cups (the last one they were winning only to have Houston Dynamo come back and blast two goals on them to win)(The New England Revolution and Patriots have the same owner). They also lost the previous year to the Dynamo in shoot outs...so for New England fans that follow soccer, I'm sure that has to be painful.Leave a comment:

I agree with that John 100 percent .
Even though Im a die hard Pitt fan.
It would be a great thing to see Farve win the Super Bowl
one more time and go out on top.
Even better!
It would be a great thing to see Farve beat out the Patriots.
This might be the plan of the football Gods .
Bring them to the big game.
To only be destroyed by the best of the back yard footballers of all time.
Think of it for a moment ,dream with me ,it can happen.
With spit in his hand and a twinkle in his eye.
Farve fires the ball like a rocket with deadly percision.
Touch down! After touch down!
Beating the Pats.
Farve the master.
Honest and Good.
Long Live the Farve
For he is backyard football.Last edited by Captain_Mego; Jan 14, '08, 8:24 AM.Leave a comment:

mb i know your pain. the patriots were 1-15 or 2-14 for a few years. the steve grogan days tony easision doug flutie , weree briefly goo with drew bledsoe and now they are good with brady. the forty niners are 2-3 players away from being a good team. they are about 5 or 6 good players from winning the superbowl because the afc is so strong. if the forty niners were in the superbowl against new england i would root for them but since they arent i root for my home team the new england patriots. go new england. and yeas boston sports has sucked for many years all of them finnaly the red sox and patriots are good the celtics are still a wait and see.Leave a comment:

lmao! bro you remind me of myself.I use to get so mad when the Phins use to lose,Now I'm just use to itYou better believe I'm a fan. I have NEVER hurt like this. Not with the 49er's catch on '81 or Jackie Smith's drop in '77. NO... This hurts worse than all of them... COMBINED. I was so mad I went out in our back yard and picked up a fallen limb and bashed it endlessly against our storage shed. I cut my hand up too but didn't notice until my wife calm me down. You just have to understand we have had no playoff wins in 11 years. Now it's 12 underscored by being a 13-3 team, number one seed, and home field advantage against a team that wanted to quit throughout this game, but NO we kept them in it and let it get away from us. This was total BS. We had 200 ways to win and found the one way to lose. Without a doubt we beat ourselves. Romo acted like an a*s and exposed himself to criticism with some blonde cupcake and his performance proved that what the critics said was fair. His head was not in the game and he deserves every bit of criticism he gets... the moron. Fire him, fire the coach and PLEASE let Jason Garrett go to the Ravens. All losers please LEAVE!!!! We'll never live this one down.
but I remember back in 95 when we lost to SD in the Playoffs and Natrone Means stepped out of bounce and they counted the TD,I was furious!! I destroyed my wall...punches and elbows everywhere. My mom was like what the hell is going on?! It hurts to be so close and lose

The Patriot's haven't won anything yet either. They still need to win two more to consider this season a success. 17-0 is not the goal. 19-0 is the only goal that is acceptable. I said from the start Jacksonville was the team that worried me the most so I do believe the Pats can win it all right now. I think the only team that can beat them now is themselves. We'll know in a couple of weeks for sure. GO SOX!!! GO CELTS!!!! GO PATS!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!Leave a comment:
