Here in the Bay Area...the 49ers seem to have more fans than the Raiders...on the local channels...the sports segment almost always starts off with the Niners...even the Oakland station...KTVU...showcases the Niners first...but that's mainly because KTVU is an NFC station...FOX...

The G-men, more history and 4 trips to the Superbowl........Jets need to win a superbowl it's been 42 years since broadway joe took them to the promised land

I don't think Sanchez is the answer...I imagine the Giants will gobble them up on Saturday. Sorry Hector.

My own observation is that there are more Giants then Jets fans. I run into a lot of Giants fans down in Maryland but hardly ever see a die hard Jets fan around.

I have been a Jets fan since Joe was pushing panty hose on TV. To be a NYC football fan you have to love your team, I mean really love your team; especially if that team is the Jets. Sanchez's style of play only works if the defense hold the opposition to less than 20 points and the running game is working. I believe in Rex Ryan. My verdict is still out on Sanchez, mainly because the Jets offensive game plan does not permit him to showcase anything but dink and dunk. Seriously, the last time the Jets ran a stretch the field offensive game plan was with Ken O'Brien and Al Toon. If the Jets are going to the superbowl this year or any other they are going to have to open up the playbook a little.

What is the record between the Jets and Giants right now? Do they play each other more like divisional rivals, where you can throw the win/loss record out? Or is one team more dominant right now? For very selfish reasons (namely Dallas) I would love for the Jets to manage what the Cowboys can't seem to accomplish by themselves...and that's eliminate the Giants from playoff contention. Of course Dallas has to beat the Eagles too and that will be no easy task.

Giants have played the Jets 11 times and have won 7 of them.

Apparently, Dallas is no longer "America's Team". A recent article stated that the Green Bay Packers are currently "America's Team" with 22% of fans stating that Green Bay is their favorite football team. I do find that information a bit suspect since I recently heard that 25% of all NFL merchandise was Dallas Cowboys related.

I am old enough to remember those two playing plus good old Pat Ryan.

It's amazing as I get older how many players I have now seen come and go in the NFL.

While there is no denying that the Packers has always had a solid base of fans you also have to understand the frontrunner mentality that has always existed in the NFL. Saw quite a bit of Patriots "fans" around here (which is rare) back when they were on their dynasty tear in the early 2000s. Now you see nothing but mainly Bears, Packers, and Vikings which has always been the case in our area.

I remember seeing a lot of "Patriots" fans as well, but not so much anymore. Around here (Western Maryland); I would say it is Ravens, Steelers, Redskins in that order. I grew up closer to D.C. and it was the team my family all follows. I live the same distance from Baltimore and Washington so understandable that there would be more Ravens fans. Steelers have always been big in this area as well. A lot of people grew up and around Pittsburgh and relocated to this area as adults due to limited job opportunities up there.

America's team is still thriving.... See below. But yes... You don't get the title unless you win some championships periodically or at least make some appearances. We're long overdue. I'm not interested in Dallas being the Earnhart Jr. of the NFL.

Giants for sure. Back in the LT days it was even more nuts. Jets haven't been a viable team since Namath retired and became a drunk. LOL
