    It's almost playoff time

I like how most of this is shaping up. I like the chaos and last second scrambling for playoff position and wildcards. I like the stories of players looking for redemption, respect and college chicks. I totally dig this time of year.

If the old saying is true that you're only as good as your last game, then the Colts rock and the Packers suck. What a strange day. Two very different types of perfection were destroyed. Breaking news: Manning won't play in 2011. Guess they gotta get him healthy enough to trade to Washington.

Speaking of Washington, both the Redskins and Chiefs had HUGE upsets on Sunday. It was a very good week for Indians. Probably the first since 1492.

Looks like New England made a statement regarding the best team in the AFC. Denver and Tebow were soundly beaten but not utterly crushed like some had predicted. There's actually a company putting out a beer called Tebrew. You can't make this stuff up. Three quarters of the bottle is stale, but it has a fantastic finish.

I think the ultimate Super Bowl would be Packers-Patriots, just from a personnel perspective. That would no doubt be the most viewed in history. Anything can happen between now andd then, but that is the match-up I'm most looking forward to. Saints and Niners are still impressive, though.

After being arrested on federal drug possession and distribution charges, the Bears cut wide receiver Sam Hurd...with baking soda. Too bad, he was on my fantasy dope dealer team.

San Fran's best quarterback isn't on the field...yet. Colin Kapernick is going to be a stud. Being able to absorb an NFL system for a full season he'll end up their starter for many years.

Rex Ryan has proclaimed his team the kings of New York, the best team in town. He still must have had some anesthesia side effects from the surgical rectal repair from the fire hydrant-sized rogering they got from Philly.

    Final Four playoffs:

Packers vs. Saints - The 49rs could slip in too

Patriots vs. Ravens - I think Ben is more hurt than has been revealed

THis is gonna be a fun two weeks.

Hoping for the saints to make it to superbowl again. Brees is looking pretty sharp lately. Almost to Marinos record.

NFC...I'll be rooting for the Niners...great defense...although their offense is not nearly as potent as the Packers and Saints. The Niners have a good shot of beating the Saints at home (if they win the second seed, but probably won't beat the Saints in New Orleans)...and it's going to be awfully tough to beat the Packers at their turf.

AFC...I'll be rooting for the Ravens...so sick and tired of both the Patriots and Steelers. No one in the AFC West has a chance in hell...lol.

... I picked The Ravens for the AFC A Few weeks Back ..., But Damn ... After they Got Slamed Hard by The Chargers, I just dunno. If the Chargers can Get in ..., and Play like that They Would be my Pick.

The Steelers Flew out to Candlestick didn't they ? .... Put That Game in Pittsburg, and thats a different Game.

Homefeild Advantage in the Play Offs can be Huge with certain teams ..., Look at what the Hawks did to the Saints last year. But then Look at what the Jets did to the Pats. Nothing's set in stone I suppose.

Even after their miserable and utterly embarrassing performance against Washington on Sunday, I still think the G Men will beat the Jets and Dallas AGAIN, to solidify their playoff spot-- Or I'm hoping anyway. Go Jints!

I'm with you, Scott- A very interesting week indeed. Topped off by last night's game, in which Big Ben cost his team the game by insisting to play, even though he was obviously hurt much worse than even he let on. How many interceptions did he throw? I bet we see Batch on Sunday...

Will be glad to see the Giants and Cowboys duke it out for the playoff spot. I do find it irritating that the talking heads are still talking about Philadelphia and the playoffs. They are not technically out but would need a lot of insane things to happen for it to work. Probably would have been better to just not say anything and if there is still a chance after this weekend, then bring it up.

So long as the Cowboys and Patriots are not in the mix I am happy.

As much as I'm a diehard fan of Dallas, I know if they get in, they'll be gravy for the Packers. If we were able to lock horns first with the 49ers we may advance one round, but I think that's highly unlikely. At this stage I think the most probable championship match ups are the Packers/49ers in the NFC and the Patriots/Ravens in the AFC. The AFC is definitely the weaker of the two this year, so I see the NFC winner taking the Superbowl.

Chargers finally found a cohesive offensive line that works. The pick-up of Gaither from the Chiefs was a steal.

I'm afraid it's too little, too late...but if they do get in, watch out for the Chargers. They are finally getting healthy and Rivers is playing lights-out over the past 3 games.

Normally, I would agree with that statement. But Sunday night showed what the Chargers can do when they have their weapons healthy and in the game.

Their main problem now is which defense will show up.

I want Turner gone, but it appears the team has rallied around him and is playing to keep him as their coach. If they get in the playoffs, watch out.

It could be an interesting playoffs depending on seeding. Some teams like the Ravens play much better at home then on the road. The Niners have a solid defense which can always be a challenge. I sure wouldn't count the Chargers out yet either.

Is it just me or do the Packers, Patriots, and Saints all seem like teams that almost have to have their QB play at a high level or else they are in trouble? My dark horse would be the Giants right now. When they are "on" they can play with anyone but they seem to run hot and cold and are very unpredictable.

That's always been their problem-- Very inconsistent. When they're playing well, they can beat anyone, but sadly, they don't play well enough often enough. It's very frustrating being a Giants fan-- The talent is there, it's just not always evident. Great team with a really great QB, but it still boggles my mind how they can play like a superbowl team one week and Indianapolis the next--

                          Bring on the Jets!!!

OK...for you New Yorkers...and be honest here...

Who has more NYC fans...Giants or Jets?

Here in the Bay Area...the 49ers seem to have more fans than the Raiders...on the local channels...the sports segment almost always starts off with the Niners...even the Oakland station...KTVU...showcases the Niners first...but that's mainly because KTVU is an NFC station...FOX...
