Exactly. Like every roofer has told me: We won't know what we're dealing with until we open it up.

MIB41 gave us an excellent blueprint to get started. Talk about giving "Thanks" for this "Thanksgiving". He just saved me a ton of dough.

It looks like the heads and boots are coming from Malaysia.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

I love this figure. I got the SSC EX and even that krypto chain kicks butt. I understand the debates when you are paying $200+ for a figure, but there is a fine line between critical observation and being someone you just can't please...

My husband's arrived Monday and it looks amazing. The paint job on the eyes is so real it's a little freaky. I do agree the boxing was over the top, but it was well protected. The only complaint was one of the stands (comes with two) was cracked, working on getting a replacement.

We have it on the shelf next to my 1/6 Lynda Crater Wonder Woman statue, now all I need is a 1/6 Adam West Batman and my 70's Justice League dream team will be complete.

I have been collecting Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece figures from day one. I have to say each sculpt and body are getting better and better. The Sculpt is dead on. The body is perfect and so is uniform. The Skin tone looks like real flesh. Something HT is great at . . Most toy companies just paint head with a high gloss paint . You can't put a HT Superman head on a HT Indy body. Ford was not built like Superman. And the Mattel Superman was awful just like everything Mattel makes. Even you change the head and boot the body looks out of proportion. Why waist your money on a HT Superman head and boots when you can buy the whole figure for a little more money

Oh brother... If you were TRULY a collector of Hot Toys figures since "day one" then you know how to customize them. And the quality of bodies vary from figure to figure. There has never been one fluid transition from one body to another. Hot Toys experiments alot, but also uses similar plugs so fans can make changes. This Indy body will easily adapt to the Superman head and make it read considerably better. Here's a comparison...

The Indy figure... Considerably more realistic chest and arm sculpts. Plug adaptors in neck, arms, and legs interchange and can be adapted.

Here is, by your own words, the "improved" Superman body. No comment.

I pick up spare bodies soley for this purpose. I get them on the cheap and then when I see a figure I feel I can build in pieces for a fracture of the cost, then I do so. Scores of other people do that too. Hence the reason why you have such a huge market for the "spare parts". I love the fact that many people are pleased with this figure. I never came here to 'battle' that point with anyone, nor have I. What I did discuss are production flaws many are getting with their orders. It's an unusual event for Hot Toys because I normally don't see those kinds of comments outside the lunatic fringe of critics that are never happy with anything Hot Toys does (yet they buy all their product anyway). When I saw this figure for pre-order, I determined the best part about it was the head sculpt. I decided I would build it from there. For those who love what they got, that's fantastic. I'm pleased it lived up to their expectations. But for those who received a flawed figure in production (greyed skin tones, uneven paint jobs, cracked bases, etc), I feel bad for those buyers and hope Hot Toys takes notice and does something to help them out to regain their trust.

hey tom ,go for it ,its gonna look great ,the mattel body suit is a great idea ,and the i prefer the emblem ,it looks better intergrated and more like part of the suit ,than a extra piece stuck on ,word of warning when removeing the mattel suit ,watch the velcro ,it snags something fierce ,i use a scrap piece of non hooky side velcro ,and cut a strip and press it on the suits hooky side velcro ,this stops it snagging during undressing and dressing your figure ,you might want to buy the hot toys trunks ,as they are a much better cut and fit ,but your mileage may vairy .with the indy body not haveing the ankle extentions your supes will be slighty shorter but you wont care or notice as the boots will come a little higher to the knee and look more screen acurate ,i think your gonna love your custom when you put it all together ,and dont skimp on the pics cheers and a belated happy turky day to all chris
