Yeah, Kaddafi had a thing for gold-plated weapons. They found a golden AK-47 in one of his palaces.

Also, the inscription on his pistol said something about "the sun never setting on his rule." Talk about ironic.

I hate plenty of elected officials here...but I still rather live here than there...

Well said. We take so much for granted here in the U.S. Our forefathers did a great job with checks and balances. Not perfect but it is about as good as it gets. I have visited a lot of first world countries and really enjoy the visit but practically kiss the ground when I arrive back in the U.S. Nothing against any other country but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
