I personally don't enjoy the celebrations that take place at the death of anyone. As an American; I think most of the happiness of an evil dictator being done away with is hopes that a more rational leader will take their place and at least add some stability to an already unstable world.

I do feel happy for those who had to suffer under a horrible dictator and hopeful that they will find a way to live peacefully.

It's funny how most Americans see it totally OK for other world leaders to be killed and dragged through the streets. Yet their own leaders (or puppet masters) are just as corrupt. Heaven forbid anyone suggest they should get the same treatment

i really am shocked you think there is a comparison,. this was a brutal tyrant who murdered his own people and then had the nerve to call them "his sons" and beg them not to kill him.

we may have corrupt idiots in office but we can vote them out and they certainly are not ordering the murder of their own people

Trying not to be specific or political, but there's a famous quote that comes to mind:

"Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

I think it's a universal truth, and I think it's why one of the main purposes of democracy is to put limitations on people at the highest levels of power - it may be flawed, but I think it's a lot better than anything else we've come up with so far.
