Footloose 2011 - Not the worst movie made

I went into this with the absolute worst thoughts. I didn't like the original and I knew for a fact I wouldn't like this version.

I didn't.

However, it wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. The lead in this is a horrible actor, borderlining on Hayden Christensen. My wife dragged me into this thing, and she thought it was terrific. I got some seriously buttered popcorn and got to watch my favorite actor, Dennis Quaid.

It follows along pretty faithfully to the original but is able to modernize stuff a bit with ipods. There are some nods to the original with remakes of the soundtrack tunes and some clothing. Overall I suppose anyone who liked Bacon's film would like this. It had heart but little else.

This is a solid C.

Kevin Bacon is one of the worst dancers to ever hit the silver screen...the dude had ZERO rhythm...I'm willing to bet this new actor dances way better...lol.

Now John Travolta and Patrick Swayze on the other hand...

Nice to hear that it's not unbearable, I too have agreed to take the wife. Last time it was Sex in the City and that seemed to go on forever. I got up to use the bathroom and considered hanging out in the lobby until it was over.

And yes, Hec this new guy can dance. However he's just a horrible actor, just plain terrible.
