Footloose 2011 - Not the worst movie made

Swayze pursued multiple artistic and athletic skills, such as ice skating, classical ballet, and acting in school plays. He played football for his high school and was hoping to receive a football scholarship for college until a knee injury ended his career. He studied gymnastics at nearby San Jacinto College for two years.

So yes...he was an athlete...at the very least...compared to Bacon.

Now, if you are going to dismiss on the man just because...I don't know what else to say on the matter...

I heard this remake had almost word-for-word some of the same scenes as the original and that overall it is not very different. The original Footloose is a Cult Classic - why anyone would mess with it is beyond me if in fact you aren't going to completely re-purpose it.

I always thought Kevin Bacon had a nose like a pig with his nostrils flaring out. I didn't understand then, and don't understand now, why he was ever used in a dance film. Most of what was done anyway was done by a stunt double. It felt like a Dirty Dancing wannabe. Honestly I think the movie was just okay, but got it's greatest boost from Kenny Loggins, who was on a wave of soundtrack hits, starting with Top Gun.

I Think Dirty Dancing was the wannabe film Footloose came out in Summer 1984 and Dirty Dancing summer 1987 but I would pick Bacon over Swayze in that musical dance setting anyday of the week

I have no clue why people are hating on this movie I thought it was great! I was to young for the original though but, when i watched it before the new one I really could not relate to it. Kenny Wormald is an AMAZING dancer in this movie and Julianne Hough is way more attractive too. I personally liked this one a lot more than the original.
