I think he had the same type of Cancer Patrick Swayze had, Pancreatic. Most people who have it don't find out until it's in the late stages. No symptoms of it until it has progressed.
"Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."

Yeah, that's a bad one. One of my father's good friends died of that. By the time he had symptoms it was too late, he was gone a month later.

He didn't quite have the same cancer as Swayze--his was a rare kind of pancreatic cancer that has a bit better prognosis....it's why he lasted 8 years. Most pancreatic cancers get you in 6 to 12 months......
Anyway, sorta hard to deny Mr Jobs his contribution to business and culture. A true visionary. RIP
He's that incredible mix of genuine innovator and genuine icon to me - I have to admit, it's a weird feeling.
I honestly think that he maybe one of the few people in our lifetime that history really singles out and remembers - you know, 'that guy from the computer age' - the way that Henry Ford is remembered now by high school students.
Damn straight.
500 years from now...no one is gonna have a clue who the hell someone like Paris Hilton or Justin Beiber were...but Steve Jobs will be remembered like we now remember Leonardo da Vinci.
RIP Mr Jobs...I thank you for your creativity, innovation...and for making the world just a tad better...I salute you...
