A great movie being ignored at the box office...

Like the book, the movie is about a Hollywood stunt performer (played by Gosling) who moonlights as a getaway driver. Prior to its September 2011 release, it had been shown at a number of film festivals. At the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, Drive was praised and even received a standing ovation. Reviews from critics have been positive, with many drawing comparisons to work from previous eras. Praise has also been given to Gosling's and Brooks' performances. The director has said influences came from Bullitt (1968) and The Day of the Locust (1975); and that Drive was a tribute to Alejandro Jodorowsky.

I hear nothing but good things about this movie...it has great reviews at Rotten Tomatoes (93% rating)...

Ryan Gosling is an excellent actor...one of the best young talents right now...very underrated....and overlooked.

The director said he was influenced by Bullitt and The Day of the Locust.

This is supposed to be a great "drive car" theme movie...yet mindless stuff like Fast Five (Fast & Furious 5. although it was a fun movie)) is the one that makes a bucket load of money...and Drive is struggling at the box office.

What's wrong with people??? Me included...lol.

I'm going to check it out...

U know what, I watched this last night, stuck it on about 11 in the evening, so was in a relaxed mood. I loved it, something U should definately watch on your own, and get into the atmosphere of the film, great music as well.

Isn't this a remake of the Ryan O'neil movie from the 70's.

Amazing the director does not quote that as an influence on this one.

Yeah, some of the video editors here really like it. I guess the style of filming is pretty intense and subtle at the same time as well as the acting.

I plan on checking it out.

Plus I think Christina Hendricks is hot!!

it seems from the reports that i have read that you will either love this film or hate it. There does not seem to be much in between.

Rotten Tomatoes top critics give it 93% and the audience gives it 79% - not that that means I'll like it, but it seems that most people dig it.
