Soak a blanket in paint thinner and throw it on his car. He'll be very surprised in the morning when he removes it and half his paint job comes with it.

BTW you can shoot an egg with a wrist rocket slingshot and get good distance. With a little practice you could nail him in the head through an open bedroom window from your own yard.

    I'm very vindictive.

I had an issue with a neighbor a few years ago. I work out of the home office so this guy affected me. He is—not kidding—a “noise” musician and would wake and bake at about 1:00pm-ish, and then start his “work” by basically revving up his amp and guitar and creating some of the nastiest/loudest feedback I ever heard. I actually have known a few people who are noise musicians, and they would do similar stuff but not this loud, not outdoors and not to purposefully antagonize the neighbors. I have a backyard cafe in my building and there is a kids playground behind that and this genius who was playing this cacophony was right next door. You could see parents and kids holding their ears.

So I finally confronted the guy—once I was able to determine what building he was in—and he couldn’t care less about anything. This is a residential neighborhood and he could care less. He even said he could care less about me reported him to the police because they are too busy with other things. Unbelievable.

So what I did was write down time and date of each incident and called 311 in NYC which handles small complaints like this that don’t need immediate police attention. Kept on doing it for weeks! Finally stopped, but not without one last burst of bull****. Anyone here know of “The Mosquito”? The audio “teen” deterrent that generates a painful high-pitched sound that only teens can hear? Anyway. the guy generates a sound like that sound, but audible by adults. Very subtle and can only be discerned if you really pay attention. But in my case, I noticed it when I was taking a nap and could not get decent sleep. Closed the windows, and suddenly the lack of “background buzz” was apparent! That piece of crap was generating that sound the night he was busted and stopped in the morning. Like a last slap in the face to the neighborhood.

He’s stopped since, but here is what I learned in general: Having videotape documentation is great, but in general you need a trail to present to the cops. It can simply be dates of incidents and photos of the damage or video. But basically just saying you know the guy did something is not enough. Evidence.

Past that I do not recommend you retaliate as tempting as it is. If anything you might want to just actually confront the neighbor, and log responses. Even if you know that all you will get is a pile of crap, you have to do that. Prove you took the high road and log them being jerks. Heck, wire yourself up to record the interaction. That way when you go to the cops, you can say, “Look, I know this guy has done this. These incidents happened. This was their response. I have not caught them red-handed but I need your help.”

Also do they own their own property or rent? If they rent contact the owner of the property as well. Log that info as well.

Believe me if you document the incidents and take the high road and you will get the problem solved.

Advice of retaliation is bad advice...don't sink into that dude's level.

It will only escalate the matter...make it worse.

The best and most effective way is to document everything (infrared security camera is sound advice)...then let the authority take care of it.

Maybe you could do this to get revenge like Peter did when his car was messed with.

tempting as it is to just go over and beat this *** senseless....it is not worth it. the trail of evidence is what you need. call the cops. point them in this guys direction each time something happens. eventually they will do something. I was having problems with my next door neighbors kids for years, kept trying to work it out with the parents and each time i s/w them it would be good a for a few months and then it would nstart up again. the last straw was when one of the little *******s came over and took a big **** on a patio bench i had stored under my deck for the winter. one call to the State Police and they were all over the little *****. soon as school ended that year the parents shipped the kid down south to live with relatives and she never came back, parents moved down shortly after. that was 3 or so years ago. noone has lived there since. house is still on the market but at least I now have quiet neighbors. LOL

My neighbors are a father, daughter and her two kids. The father is always away and when he is away, she invites underage youth to come and get drunk. That's when they start playing loud music and insulting any angry neighbors. They are technically illegal aliens, but in Australia they are just immigrants from new zeland. Australia and New zeland have a deal where citizens can live in any of the two countries for any amount of time.

She wasn't able to get a welfare payment so she had children, in order to receive an income. I'm not sure where they are when she plays the loud music.

She is 24 years old and she acts like a 16 year old.

Could you imagine, if they offered the same deal between America and Mexico?
I recently learnt, that they had been kicked out of five rental properties before moving next door. The first week they moved in, they had loud parties every night and they would race dirt bikes up and down the street. The police peppersprayed the father the first night they moved in. You can tell how considerate they are.

Retaliation won't be effective. Retaliation will just be met with more retaliation. I also would take the advice of documenting and if there is a confrontation; I would try to be diplomatic about it. It might work and it might not. I sometimes find DB's to be somewhat reasonable if you are firm but polite....others will continue the behavior. Neighbors unfortunately similar to family in that you really have no choice in picking them (unless you live out in the country with lot's of land surrounding your property).
