My car was egged last night.

When I approached my car this morning, I noticed egg shells on the side of the road and then I noticed yolk splattered over the side of my car. Luckily it had only been sitting for a couple of hours and I was able to wash it off without any detected damage.

I know who it was, but I don't have sufficient evidence. It was my next door neighbor, who likes to play music until 5am some mornings and then when other neighbors interfere and call the police they attack fellow neighbors. While playing loud music, they like to dump empty bottles and slab boxes over my fence and the other neighbors. I'm not one to break the law, but how could I deal with this situation? Has anyone else on here ever had a similar situation?

You need to set up a video camera and nail him doing it. Then call the authorities. People that are that vindictive have no sense and will likely not correct themselves.

I have a few cameras that i'll be setting up. I have a inferred camera, that'll come in use.
Everyone seems to encounter a neighbor like this in a life time.

Sounds like a good idea, a rotten egg would be better.

had the sun hit the car with that egg on it , it would've destroyed your paint job

Your neighbor is violating the "Quality of Life Law" by even playing said loud music at "Any time of the day" (not only the wee hours of the nite). Music that's deemed too loud and disruptive is an intrusion to your "Right to Peace". Deductive reasoning dictates that the eggs on your car could possibly be an act of their retaliation....this is why hidden cameras could strengthen your case. Now, I'm not telling you what to do. However, i would get together with the neighbors that are being affected and file a report with the local precinct's Administrator in charge (Captain) i like going to the top. Additionally, you guys can contact your local District Politician (Assemblyman...etc) and put the pressure on them. Disturbances such as the aforementioned have stringent laws attached to them that must be inforced by "All" Police Departments. Thereafter, all parties involve will have to appear in court to settle differences. I hope this helps.......Good luck! Retired Law Enforcement officer Frank V. (Ivaniski)

Is this an adult neighbor or someone's son/daughter? I had this happen to me about 15 years ago when we lived in our townhouse. We didn't do anything to provoke it. The teenage son and some friends probably skipped school, got drunk and threw eggs out of the window onto my car. I knew it was them just by looking at the angle of the egg splatter and shells. The parents were a bit strange and not friendly towards us, but they were not unfriendly either. I washed my car and made sure that the parents saw what had happened. A couple of days later, the parents yanked their son over to my house who admitted to egging my car and that it was a juevenille prank, he was sorry, etc. Thankfully, the parents made him take accountability. That was experience. It wasn't anything personal; my car just seemed to be the closest object for target practice.

Better yet, get really big speakers and point them at his house right next to the fence and blast out some opera for a few days.

                            Hmmmm....

Stuff like this is hard to prove, but I always recommend letting the cops know ASAP. It starts the paperwork in case anything serious happens. Make sure they know about the loud music and such, and yeah; if someone else has been having problems get them to make reports as well.
