Are soccer players the only athletes who fake injuries right in the middle of games?

i mean the rule is that if there's an injured player it's an official time out...there's no way an official can determine if it's real or not, so i doubt it will be changed, keep in mind that player cannot be in the next play...

I don't always think the means justifies the end result. If a QB is beating you, do you purposely break his legs? Well, you would want to (), but you don't. I think there should be some degree of integrity and honor in how you play the game. If you have to cheat to stay competitive, then your more weasel than competitor. It speaks to the character, or lack thereof, of the team when two players would fall down as if scripted. It's also degrading to the players because it means they don't have what it takes, so they have to resort to cheating to get what they need. And look where it got them? Now the team is getting a lot of bad press and the spotlight is on them and that coach. Bad karma my friend.

NEW YORK (AP) - The NFL has sent a memo to all 32 teams warning of fines, suspensions and loss of draft picks if the league
determines players faked injuries during a game.

In the memo obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press, the NFL
reminded teams of league policy that calls on coaches to discourage the practice, and that there was no specific rule on the topic.

However, two days after there was speculation the Giants' Deon Grant faked an injury against the Rams on Monday night, the NFL is warning of disciplinary action.

The memo says discipline "could include fines of coaches, players, and clubs, suspensions or forfeiture of draft choices."

they'll just find a less obvious way to do it, coaches will get trainers to go along with it and make it look more real

I didn't watch much of the Giant game but the same accusation was made of a San Diego player last week against New England when they were going no huddle.

It's really hard to tell if someone is really injured or not. Legs get cramped (not seriously bad but enough to put them on the ground). As bad as I have seen the fake injuries in soccer; I have also seen referees hand out yellow cards to a player if the fake is obvious. Unfortunately, soccer has no instant replay rule (and probably never will) so they can only see what happens live at full speed.

Hector, I saw that and thought it was hilarious! Smart way of being able to get your subs on the field without blowing a time out when the other team is killing you with the no huddle offense. Pretty bad acting job though.

You can see fake injuries in a lot of sports, even boxing. I've seen plenty of boxers exaggerate "illegal" punches that could penalize or even disqualify the opponent. If you're a basketball fan, then you remember the Master Flopper himself, Vlade Divac; plenty of shame in his game. I've watched a lot of sports in my time and I'd have to say that Hockey is the sport with the least amount of nonsense (IMO). But speaking of nonsense, let's get back to soccer: Unfortunately for me, I've seen more soccer than I care to remember. My best friend growing up was from Argentina and he always had a soccer match on. This goes back to when a young Maradona was terrorizing goalies. I remember asking him, " How can you watch a sport that has no honor or integrity? Look at that player rolling around on the ground and then quickly getting up as soon as he's ignored by the ref!" His only response was, "It's the most popular sport in the world." I say it's the most popular sport by default, but that's another topic all together.
As far as cheating goes, none come close to soccer; a sport that has had more black eyes than Tina Turner.
You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

teams do do it all the time and it was a smart move....I never said anything different,I still stand by that
