Christmas shoes is the most depressing song ever written. Every time it comes on the radio I have to shut it off before I hang myself with a string of christmas lights.
I much prefer the light hearted fun songs.

Santa Baby...I don't care who sings this, I just think Santa should be for kids, not for golddiggers trying to seduce Jolly Ole St. Nick to get what they want.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

I think it was Eatha Kitt of Catwoman fame that sang the original,I agree pretty racey for its time.

I am actually a fan of WC by Paul. Though I am a Wings fan, probably more so than a Beatles. I think the only way I like Synths is when they are in a Christmas song or in some other rock song where they really don't belong. Paul's song is kind of silly sounding now, but at least it's "merry". "War is over" has always bummed me out. This is something I don't share often...LOL!! I got your back, Hugh...

You know what's NOT a Christmas song yet oddly sounds like one "I Want to Know What Love Is" by Foreigner.
“As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery… we have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion and a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness.” - The Dalai Lama

Ditto, esp when it is earsplittingly loud, and the artist who is singing, cant. Ugh!

Ghost of Christmas threads past return again!

So what Christmas song is annoying you this year?

Feliz Navidad is getting HEAVY airplay here. I thought it was cute when my son was really small and sang "Fleas nummy-naw" but now it's just grating.

And Wonderful Christmastime is still horrid. And Christmas Shoes is still sappier than a factory full of Mrs. Butterworth.

^^ You're consistent Thomas. I can't stand "I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus" or "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth". Christmas songs sung by kids trying to be cute annoy me to no end.

Then I bet "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" just totally grates your nerves! I admit, I kind of like it in a way. It never gets over played. I only hear it about 3 times a year. It has an old school Shirely Temple quality.
