    Whats your worst Christmas song.?

The Christmas song I can't stand is Christmas Shoes. Luckily its not on heavy rotation this year.

Grandma got run over by a reindeer.

At Walgreens, I saw a musical car with grandma in the driver's seat and a reindeer on the hood that plays the song.

"Grandma" was a funny novelty song that never deserved to be a cottage industry. It deserved to go away like Disco Duck and Pac-Man Fever, but every Christmas it gets pulled out and dusted off. There's even an animated special.

I'm going to tick off a lot of Beatles fans here, but McCartney and Wings "A Wonderful Christmas Time" is my absolute least favortie Christmas song. It came on the all-Christmas radio station in the car last night and my wife asked "Who thought that sounded good?" (referring to the awful synthesizers). I responded in a mock Paul voice "I'm a frickin' Beat-l, I can do whut I wunt".

If anyone else had recorded that dreck it would have been pulped to make artificial Christmas trees years ago.

Wonderful christmas time by McCartney. Lennon pulled off a good one but McCartney's sucks.

The Twelve Days of Christmas. Still to this day I detest that song.

When I was in 5th grade. We had this creepy teacher named Mr. Kopp who forced everyone in the class to memorize that song. For the test we had to write the whole song down.
He was such a creep, we had to stay in for our next recesses until we passed that test. He literally ruined that song for me. Really bad teacher. I think that is illegal now anyway. LOL

Apologies---don't wanna start an Xmas fight here, but this is an interesting
post Chris as it mentions probably my LEAST favorite Xmas song---and one
my MOST favorites that gets bashed a lot on message boards!

I adore Wonderful Xmastime for the very reason you despise it...those
trippy synths sound so deliciously lo-fi and kitschy, I'm just so
enamoured with 'em. Also the song is fun and --I don't know---simple &
unpretentious---especially when put it up against the overbloated
WAR IS OVER by his Beatle-mate Lennon----I don't know, something about
WAR IS OVER just rubs me the wrong way---like its too predictable for a
Lennon Xmas song or something and because of that, it sounds insincere to me

BUT my least favorite popular Xmas song is probably "Grandma Got
                  Run Over..."

The premise is just lame to me, and it sounds like its being sung by an
                  annoying hick...
Our elderly grandma was hopped up on alcohol-filled eggnogg and
and was so messed up that when she wandered out into the night and
she got killed or whatever--- well, we must attribute it
to a (possibly) imaginary reindeer and, yeah, her death ruined our
Christmas, but me and grandpa believe there's a Santa as a result
of this ---ha, ha, ha (not!)

                  Merry Xmas!
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

I don't listen to the radio because they play crap I don't want to hear. I've never actually heard "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer," but, unlike "Christmas Shoes" and "The Happy Elf," I have heard the title before. If I'm lucky, I'll never heard any "new" Christmas songs.

The worst Christmas song that I've heard is "Shadrach, the Black Reindeer," by Dolly Parton. It was playing on the outside speakers at a convenience store where I was buying gas, so I couldn't get away from it. She should make a list and apologize to everyone who's ever had to listen to it.

The best version of a Christmas song is John Fahey's "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen Fantasy." It's good enough to play year-round.

Man, nobody's mentioned that wretched George Michaels XMAS song yet?? That's got to be the worst one, The McCartney one coming in a close second.

By the way...as of Xmas 2007, this my FAVORITE XMAS songs mix CD...
(The list barely changes year to year if at all & is as much as you can strategically
cram on an 80 minute CD)

                        HUGH CHRISTMAS PICKS:
                        Greensleves (What Child Is This?)
                        Merry Xmas Everybody – Slade
                        Christmas Vacation (from the movie)
                        Jingle Bell Rock (Bobby Helms)
                        Do They Know It’s Christmas? – Band-Aid
You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch (from the T.V. special)
Let It Snow – Dean Martin
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus – John Cougar
                        Father Christmas – Kinks
                        Wonderful Christmastime – Paul McCartney
Christmas In Hollis – RUN DMC
The Christmas Song (Chestnuts…) – Nat King Cole
12 Days Of Christmas – Bob & Doug McKenzie
Rocking Around The Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee
                        White Christmas – Bing Crosby
The Christmas Song - Alvin & The Chipmunks
                        Winter Wonderland – The Eurhythmics
                        Christmas Wrapping – The Waitresses
Do You Hear What I Hear? (the version that was in GREMLINS)
Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town (Bruce Springsteen)
Little Drummer Boy (Bing Crosby & David Bowie)
The Most Wondeful Day Of The Year (That MISFIT TOYS song from RUDOLPH)
Chritmastime Is Here (That song at the start of the Charlie Brown T.V. special)
Welcome Christmas (That song THE WHOS sing from the GRINCH T.V. special)
                        Silent Night – Neil Diamond

I thought about including ADAM SANDLER'S CHANUKA SONG because I love it
and it DOES mention Christmas in it---but I just couldn't bring myself to add
that song for some reason----not Christmasy ENOUGH for me, I guess
(but a great Xmas song just the same)

I knew when he said "tick off a lot of Beatle fans" in regards to WC, that
it was probably going to have the opposite effect.....EVERY year that song gets bashed
to bits...I wonder if anyone besides me even likes it sometimes
