I am so sorry Scott. One recommendation during your clean up - "Clorox clean up with bleach". That's what its called and it cleans really good and sucks up the water at the same time. You also want to get rid of any drywall or paneling. It will all start changing to mildew and mold with 72 hours after the water level goes down. Knock it out as quickly as you can with as much help as you can. It's a lot of work but you don't want it to sit. God bless you buddy. I understand your pain.

It isn't over yet. It's a monsoon in this area. I can't believe how hard it is raining and it will not let up. I found two places in my basement where the water is pouring in from the outside. The ground is just so saturated with water it has nowhere to go. And to make things worse, for some reason my pump hose fell back in through the window and it was pumping water INTO my basement. It was back up to three inches before I caught it. Sheesh. I am moving to Colorado ASAP. Anywhere they have high ground!

Sorry to hear this, Scott. More is one the way, too. We are in the middle of some torrential rain here in Maryland and, of course, it is heading north.
            It's all good!

Sorry to hear it. We've been out in Carlisle all week and it's pretty bad out here too. I'm afraid of what I'm going to find when we get back home tomorrow. Just spent all last week cementing, caulking, and storm-proofing. Let's hope this week isn't spent dredging and cleaning.

My condolences to you and best of luck to you in cleaning up and keeping hte damage down.

Scott, so sorry to hear this! In addition to pumping out the water, hopefully you can move some of your collection to higher floors.

It is bad here. Like end of the world bad. I was up all night keeping an eye on the pump. Around 3:00 it turned to where the pump cant keep up so the water is slowly rising again. I tried to get another pump but roads are closed everywhere that I would need to go to get one. There's 8 feet of water down the road at our local Hoss'. It's pretty much underwater at this point and the road is closed there. No this is not normal Alex. The flood of 72 when Agnes hit was the worst it has ever been and it's far worse than that now. I am actually in better shape than my most of my neighbors. A few have basements that are completely underwater because they didn't have a pump. It's bad here and no relief in sight, it's still raining.

Jesus Scott, I hope you've managed to move all your possessions to high ground. You must be devastated. I hope things turn around soon.

Holy Moly this does not sound good, i hope you get everything sorted out ok but i guess you can't even start until the rain stops.

You need to send it all off to Texas, they are on fire over there.

Yesterday, I left work early to avoid the flood waters... there are a ton of closed roads here in York County. The local news this morning is showing scenes of sinkholes and the weatherman said we're due another 3" on top of the foot or more we've got so far.

Luckily, my basement is pretty solid. Just a few puddles this morning.

Looks like the worst is over for now. My neighborhood looks like a war zone. There were a few deaths including one not too far away. I am still pumping to keep up with what's pouring into my basement but we still have electric and we are grateful for that. Our back yards look like lakes. I'm tempted to stock mine and do some fishing. Anyway, thanks for the sentiments and life goes on.
