Who influenced your sense of humor?

Other than my immediate family members who were fairly droll and witty I think my sense of humor was heavily influenced by 1980s David Letterman and Monty Python.

Honorable mention to Carlin HBO Specials and the Eddie Murphy concert film, but they were just funny. I was never into the Three Stooges.

For me Steve Martin during his stand-up days

To me, he was God back then

I even seen him do a stand-up show live back in the day

        Groucho Marx.
The one, the only, the original.

The man was decades ahead of his time, cutting edge humor, disrespectful at times, he has never been rivaled.

Agreed. I love that intelligent, quick wit that can make fun of a situation or even tease someone before they evne realize what's been said.

From there, I've been drawn to absurdist humor and, even more so, things that are just slightly askew. Right now, I'm diggin the American version of the show "Wilfred."

I am firmly entrenched between George Carlin and Dennis Miller. Dry and sarcastic to the bone. I have what I call a mutant ability to say anything to anyone at any time with a straight face regardless of the context. People aren't sure how to take me sometimes, even my employees.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Daffy Duck, British sitcoms and Airplane.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I started sneaking Cheech & Chong and Richard Pryor records at a very early age. I'm still quite proud of my "Mudbone" impersenation that I've been doing since I was eight.

I come from a long line of smart-arses. I'd also cite Airplane, Police Squad and the Naked Gun movies, and the good years of SNL.

My parents knew at an early age what a smartass I was going to be. I fulfilled that destiny.

I'm sure most of us are of the age where we had to go out to the woods and pick our own switch. And of course we heard the line about not coming back with a little one. I went the other direction.

At seven years old it took me 45 minutes to drag a broken branch back to grandmas house that must have been eight feet long. They were starting to get concerned about where I was when I rolled up and dropped it off and stared at them. I avoided being beaten that day simply from ingenuity. My father told me if that happened again, he'd figure out how to swing it.

Jeez, a dry deadpan mix of Alan Alda on MASH (early years..), Steven Wright, John Cleese, Letterman, Bill Murray, Harrold Ramis, Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Nesmith of the Monkees, perhaps George Harrison.

I name Nesmith and Harrison, because it's typically the non-comedians that I got most of my sly, laconic humor from.

Little Rascals and Laurel & Hardy (Channel 5) when I was really young...then I graduated to Abbott & Costello (Channel 11)...then later on, Mel Brooks Movies, Eddie Murphy & George Carlin Stand-Ups (Thank God for HBO).

Mixed in there are Cary Grant, Danny Kaye, and Lewis & Martin Comedies with Johnny Carson Tonight Show episodes.

I love comedy...I honestly believe no one should go to bed/sleep without having a good laugh 1st...hopefully it doesn't include any finger pointing
