Why Do You Go To The Movies...?

I go early avoid the crowds sit close to the screen get my slushie and tune out the world....

I like to go early to avoid crowds as well...but our similarities ends there...lol.

I sit way back...right by the wall...I don't like people seating in back of me...I'd like the feel that I'm overseeing all my little subjects...that's right...I want the King treatment...lol.

Also...I'm strictly a popcorn/soda man...it's very rare that I buy something else...maybe a hot dog here and there...but very seldom...popcorn lasts longer...

You know what I love is when I pay good money for a babysitter only to find I'm sitting in a theater with some jerk who dragged his 4 year old to a loud PG13 movie and they act their age the whole time. Why didn't I think of that? I could see a lot more movies if I had no sense of responsibility for my kid or consideration for the rest of the audience.

When that happens...I suddenly feel the urge to eat that kid...all I need is a place to slow roast him...lol.

I have very little tolerance for that...I will do either of two things...IMMEDIATELY move to the far opposite side of the theater...and if the loud/crying kid's sounds still manage to bug me...I will leave the theater and demand a refund (which has happened in the past).

You are such a considerate parent, Scott (although I met your kid, and he was pretty cool).

You know, Damien...I do the popcorn thingie Mexican style...I add a stack of dill jalapeño peppers to the top of the bag of popcorn...it's awesome like that.

I don't know if your side of the world has jalapeños in movie theaters...but here in California they do...they are next to the butter oil, ketchup, and mustard pumps...

lol naw I go with my baby who's not even 2 yet and hardly ever makes any noise and if he does either my wife or I will get up and take him out..but that's only happened maybe twice and it was cause he was hungry

That's why i go on mondays when there's only like 3 people in there and most of the time it's us telling them to keep it down

Or grown adults CONSTANTLY checking
their cell phone every ten minutes....

Or teenagers actually talking or texting on their

Drain the juice out of them.

After a mouthful of popcorn...take a bite of a jalapeño directly from its separate serving cup...as an accompaniment.

I don't go to the movies because they're too expensive --- and the seats are too small and close together

When I watch a movie I wanna be comfortable

DITTO and ditto.. Unless it's a REAL special movie with friends, I never go to theaters. Rather stay home in the man-cave with the 50", the two dogs, the wife, beer, and NO texting.

These days it's way too expensive to go out to the movies. I've only gone out to the movies four times in the last 3 years. THE DARK KNIGHT and AVATAR and Iron Man I and II. For a long time I've just been using a free movie web site. The one I use is amazing! They have "theater" and "dvd" quality. As well as a large library of only the Best movies.

I watched new POTA on there yesterday.

Emeraldknight and myself were just discussing how many films we have seen in the theater this summer. I would say it's easily a personal record for us both. Seldom do we go to the theater for too many movies unless it's in the hero genre' or something that really catches our interest. Suffice to say this summer saw studios release more films in that category than in any year I can remember. And we found ourselves in the theater just about every week as a result. Pretty amazing.

Scott and I were supposed to go to Rise of the Apes...but stuff came out at the last minute...perhaps we will eventually become your California counterparts...
