When I read this on a friend's Facebook status, I couldn't think of who this was. I thought I porn star died. Then I googled the name and realized who he meant.
I liked "Heaven," for what it was. Someone bought me a copy of "Cherry Pie," and the only song I could get into was "Uncle Tom's Cabin." Just not my kind of thing I guess. Still, that's awfully young to go.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?
uncle toms cabin and down boys are staples in my everyday work playlist. very underrated artist and band. too bad the music company has to ruin the band with cherry pie.
Feel bad for his wife and 2 daughters he left behind. While yes it is sad that another rocker has passed. I do remember listening to Warrant back in the day.
Bottom line, get off the booz and drugs and get in shape. Be part of your family and get involved with your kids.
These hair bands of the 80's need to realize, that the fantasy is over.
As you get older, the body can't handle the rock life style like when you were in your 20's.
The only person that can help you get off drugs and booze is YOU the person.
Nobody can do it for you.
Choose your friends wisely. Because the old rocker friends you had 25 years ago, or probably not the same friends you hang with 2 day.
Your body is a machine. So treat it with respect.
You don't need to be cool to do drugs in your mid 40's. Get a natural high like Ted Nugent.
I like to rock and roll just like the rest. Throw back some beers with my buddies and my coaches on my sons baseball team.
But at the end of the day, I'm in the gym working out and eating right.
I've run into a few rocker friends I had back in the 80's over the years and they never got off the drug train. They continue to smoke, drink and no exercise.
Their in the mid 40's range and they look like their 80 years old... sad.
Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen are perfect examples of old rockers doing good. Have a friend that has a sister who knows Jon personally, and she said he dedicated himself to work out and cut back on the party scene years ago. Good for him.
Yes, Jani Lane's passing is sad. Feel for the family more that he left behind.
It's kind of selfish in a way that these old rockers choose booze and drugs first over their own family in my opinion.
Just my 2 cents.
Cornelius POTA

I'm in a groove and on the move collecting Mego POTA figures. PM me anytime.
As for Warrant, I loved them when they hit the scene! I thought Dog eat dog was probably the best album in my opinion. I wasn't a big fan of Cherry Pie and after awhile neither was Jani Lane but I am sure the money that came from it took care of him feeling any hatred toward it.
Dog Eat Dog was amazing to me musically but it failed to crack anything. Maybe that's my tastes. I'm into those obscure tunes. Anything over played to me sucks and is an overkill.
I'm also a big Elvis fan and I love a lot of his obscure stuff then his poppy music. That's just me.
