    board games

So do you or your friends or relatives still play any board games?

Sadly, It seems to be fading away into the background with all of the video games available these days. I am not a big avid video gamer at all. I still enjoy a good old fashioned board game once in a while. Although it has been a while since I played one.

I see that the stores still sell them so I suppose some people are still playing with them. That is a good sign.

Every one in a while I hear some peeps having a family game night. I think that is cool.
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

My son still enjoys them, any of them. He's video game junkie first but he seems to really dig the real interaction from when we all sit down and play Battleship or Monopoly. He enjoys the later mainly because he has a knack for winning that one. Hopefully he can do that well in the real world when he's older.

I play the game of Life once in a while and Sorry -- but usually only when on a family vacation.

When my mom was alive, we'd play Battleship, Master Mind, Star Trek Uno,Othello and even an old quiz show type 8-Track game from the late 70s early 80s called Omni. This thing is HUGE! But the last game we played before she was diagnosed was "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" Mom and my brother Darryl were the contestants, I was the host, (b/c I am NOT smarter than a 5th grader! ).

Yes,me and my daughter play Chess,Mouse Trap and Guess Who,when she comes over,we play first 1 to 5 on Guess Who and she usually wins most of the time.

Sometimes we get out Monopoly when we have some friends over.

My kids love board games (6 and 9). We spend a lot of quality time sitting at the kitchen table playing games together.

Usually at least once a week friends come over and play board games. Most of the boardgames we grew up on, like Monopoly and Clue, are pretty flawed games. But there are some excellent games out there. Lately we have been on a kick of Agricola, Puerto Rico, 7 Wonders, and Thunderstone. Ticket to Ride is a wonderfully fun "pick-up-and-play" boardgame. Boardgamegeek is a pretty good website for finding new titles. They have something for just about any taste in gaming.

I have some friends who are still into board games.

Every now and then we'll play something like Settlers of Catan.

Recently, Toronto opened up a board game cafe that has been ridiculously popular. You have to get there early to get a table.

The wife and I used to play Scrabble quite often after dinner, but recently we've found playing on the ipad more convenient... you can play it in bed or the coach without getting all the little squares everywhere.
