    I just saw the alternative ending on DVD... as a fan of the book, the Price version, and the Heston version, I can say this is my favorite of the movies, and also a worthy interpretation of the book... this ending makes me happy... I love this film, I love Will Smith... and I hope Richard Matheson is satisfied also!

        I started the book and thought it was sweet. Then left it someplace, now I have to get it again, to finish it. Liked the movie too.
        "Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."
