Wow, Jess, why don't you tell us how you really feel? I think you'd feel that way about any incarnation that wasn't the original.

There were too many nods to the original films. I was like...OK! I get it!! I get it!! Jeeezus.

Will I watch it again? Most likely not. Did I like it? Not enough, apparently.

    Spoiler-----------------------------------------

Because I was emotionally detached from Caesar and his plight, the big revolt was just meh.

Definitely worth the price of admission (which Jess's hubby treated us all to, thanks Sammy!). Anyway, if you haven't seen this, what are you waiting for? Get off your dusty butt and check it out!

But come on...the virus is gonna spread pretty quickly...most humans will be gone...and apes will soon be selling hot dogs at Fisherman's Wharf...

            Spoiler--------------------------------

I love how the rag tag team of 20 or so apes from the sanctuary became hundreds by the time they reached the Golden Gate Bridge. I guess they were smart enough to genetically replicate for the revolt.

I love how the revolting apes were charging through the glass several stories high in the big revolt. I guess they were smart enough to land safely and smart enough to know how to knock out the glass safely without hurting themselves.

You forgot the zoo release scene, Jess. That's where the extra apes came from.

I guess the movie was that memorable for me!

I don't think the SF Zoo has enough space to hold more than 10 or 15 chimps in their zoo. If I'm wrong, you can call me a monkey's auntie.

Hold your applause, Hector. I did say in a couple of previous posts that you really could put any name on this movie and it would be OK, b/c it didn't capture the classic spirit. But at the same time, it was kinda a combo of Project X and Conquest. (Even Jessica's son made a reference to the 4th ape film). I went to this film w/ the mindset of it's just a movie, not an apes film. I still don't consider this part of the POTA franchise, despite the original references. But the story was good, the action was good, and I did feel for Caesar. I'm glad I went.

It's a MOVIE, not reality. It's OK that there were lotsa apes for the revolt, it added to the action. C'mon Jess...it was a good movie. You're worse than me, not liking remakes!

I missed a lot of the posts on purpose, trying to avoid any and all mention of the new film so I could watch it with an open mind.
