I walked outside for 10-15 minutes today in a parking lot farmer's market, and that was enough to K my A. Seriously, when I got back in my car I was sweating, thirsty and a little light-headed. I went back to work in the A/C and had plenty to drink, so I feel fine now, but I was surprised at how quickly the heat got to me. I had on linen pants and a short-sleeved shirt, and really didn't feel that hot. But it took me a good hour to cool back down. I have a lot of respect for people who have to work outside in this.

Here in Oakland was 83 today...too hot for me...I don't like anything above 72...and my absolute favorite temperature is 65...

the heat's definitely making me a bit cuckoo for cocopuffs right now. The air conditioner is losing the battle against the greenhouse effect in my corner townhouse. My dog and I have been sitting here panting all day. Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet, my lovely spouse claims that it's pretty darn hot in Taipei as well right now.

I usually enjoy hot weather, but the humdity here in the midwest is a lot different than out west. Our low this week is going to be 91. It has been steadily in the upper 90's to 100 degrees for a while now and rising.

I just walk outside and it almost takes my breath away. It is friggin hot people!

I totally feel for those that have to work outside roofers, construction or what have you. That is just insane to be out in that heat unless you really have to be. Some say they are conditioned for it. It use not to bother me much either when I was younger I guess I am no longer conditioned like that. Now the only conditioning I am in is AIR conditioning.

I live in the Midwest also. I honestly don't think my ac has kicked off for more than a few minutes in the past two days, and that's only set on 75. I'm starting to get concerned that it's going to burn itself out.

Maryland has been pretty hot, too. Has been getting to me during the day, but truth be told, I don't consider it to be summer until I can go out barefoot at night to walk the dog and it still feel s hot to my feet.
