Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed breaking up... contrived or real?

Interesting article on the two below. It includes two interviews. One where Tweed walks off the stage. The other she berates Gene nonstop. This is also happening on the "reality" show 'Jewels'. So the obvious question: Who the h*ll goes on an interview campaign to illustrate you no longer get along with your significant other? I think it's completely contrived. Gene is not the kind of personality that would take the back hand in public lightly. And he seems to take this fairly well.

As for this.. bleech ~ It's all publicity. Tweed knows cash income from DVD sales when she smells it (especially her 'direct-to-DVD' movies..) and 'Jewels' will keep the cashcow fed. It's orchestrated to gain attention.

She's no fool.., other than pickin' guys to marry.

well, being a long time KISS fan at heart - I saw that interview and the episode of Fam Jewels last night...made me kinda wonder if it was a mis-mash of truth and reality tv.
I can totally understand if Shannon is finally fed up with his persona...if in fact, he really is out getting it on with every chic he meets.
I feel; Shannon is his rock, his life. They really come off to me as genuine.

IF those tears and attitude reflect true feelings; then Gene needs to focus on family.

I'd have no quams if he retired, threw in the towel and said goodbye to KISS.

All KISS fans have that story where they say..."KISS was always there for me when i was 16 and my girlfriend left me, my parents hated me, life sucked".

Well, time to turn the tables (if all this is true) and the fans let Genie take a break.

on a side tangent...it pains me to see the level of cosmetic surgery Shannon is doing to her face. Her lips looked soooo fake and puffy in last night's episode. She is so gorgeous; she doesn't need to do this stuff.

In both the episode and interview, when Shannon was getting visibly upset; Gene, not once, reached out and held her hand or even attempted to show he loved her.

Well, that ONE time when she packed her travel bag, he gave her a hug and said he'd go see a shrink...but I didn't FEEL he was being open...

What jumped out at me was her sister looks like a different person now. They've all pushed it too far with the surgery.

The show feels so fake, he's been living this life for a long time, I don't think a couple girls in a picture are going to set her off for divorce. It all felt so forced, the kid's reactions, etc. We all get pulled in by this "reality" that is anything but. Plus it's been all fun and games up until this episode and now it's serious drama.

Was watching a Gene Simmons biography the other day ... Guessing it's a few years old.

There was a part where Shannon was reminiscing about when the kids were young.

She mentioned the oldest son when he was a kid said Gene disrespects his mother when he talks about all the women he has.

I think it's a contrived stunt with the unfortunate potential to backfire, big time. My guess would be that it was engineered to not only draw in viewers but also to serve as a lead-in for Gene to propose to Shannon (probably end of season).

I think Paul said it best...the problem with Reality TV is that reality stops as soon as the camera starts. I just can't remember if he said that before or after the "accidental" charity auction painting switch in Australia.

What I really want to know is: what is the status of the new recording material? Is it still in progress, been put on hold, in the can?

I'm not so sure. How many times has Gene put money before family? Could have been the final straw.

Probably contrived. I've heard first hand from from one girl about what a tool Gene is, but if Shannon's put up with him this long why would it suddenly bother her now?
As far as Shannon herself I can no loner think about her without thinking about at a modeling convention I went years ago where she was guest and some idiot starting playing air guiter and singing "God of Thunder" in front of her table. It was about as pathetic as it gets.

as far as why she waited this long. it could be because her last child just left the house for college. now that she does not have them at home she is probably more lonely than ever. and since the kids are grown and away she doesn't have eo take his bs anymore. this of course is just speculation. i see people throwing around the words husband and divorced. they are not married, just living together. he never even has the decency to propose to her because he is such a selfish prick. i grew up being a huge kiss fan as did many. but i have never been a fan of the actual person than gene is.

My theory is this:

They had a rough patch while taping the last season of FJ and worked it out. But they are re-performing the rough patch for interviews to draw attention to the show.
