That's one goofy book, odd humour there

And I LOVE Belgium, some of the best times of my life were had over there in recent years, and overall really cool people too!

Now, the Dutch, well that's a whole 'nother story..... j/k

Remember that Thomas is a Dutch-Belgian hybrid...
He has all of their superpowers combined!

I'm pure Belgian. My superpower is to release a deadly volley of waffles. Thomas has this same ability, but his waffles have cheese on top...

And to come back on the original subject of this crazy book: I still feel it's an unhealthy thing. It's starts with a sick joke, and before you know it somebody decides to take it for real.

Fair enough - I just have a hard time believing anyone can take it seriously after the description of page one, unless people really are naive to think that there are a nation of people who want to eat brains.

And if I try real hard, I can even do peanut butter on the cheese too

Actually, we do eat fried brains. My wife loves it. Not human brains, of course...

Well, if you insist, I'll eat your puppy. But just the one, OK? Because before you know it, everyone's going to be asking me to eat theirs, too.
But you know what they say, you can't just eat one...

It reminds me of a story my uncle from Arizona sent me several years back. It seems that there was a group of Native Americans that were so offended by the Indian nicknames in American sports (Redskins, Indians, Braves etc.) that they named their school team "The Fighting Whiteys". After the story got out, the requests for fighting whiteys jerseys overwhelmed the tribes mail. (I should mention that my wife is 1/2 Algonquin Indian.) Anyway, they returned to the old team name in frustration.
If we all could learn to laugh WITH each other (not AT each other) the world would be a much brighter place
This makes me laugh. I live in NC. The next town over from me is Cherokee NC. The big reservation. I work in Cherokee and have several friends there including some of my closest. Whenever something like this hits the news i am reminded when i first moved here i was told by several full blooded tribe members that the name of there own school is the Cherokee Braves. How's that for laughing with each other?

I'm offended by the scale of that tree on the cover art. It makes me want to commit herbicide. I mean look at that thing, it's towering over that burning building. And is it somehow flame retardant? I mean by the time that building was ablaze the tree should have been reduced to a smoldering pile of ash, but alas it stands tall, almost proud, above the structure of concrete and steel. And yet there is no mention of this anywhere in the text. What if someone mistook this blatant misrepresentation of vegetation as fact? Who's laughing now, huh? It's all fun and games until someone loses their grip on reality.
