All Substance abusers ... um what about coffee/soda drinkers ... caffeine

I don't consider coffee / soda drinkers to be substance abusers. After all, I've never met a person who was high, hopped up, or violently criminal after having (or NOT having) their Starbucks latte or a can of Coke.

All Cigarette smokers ... how about just get rid of cigarettes I have friends that smoke

Well... I might be inclined to agree with you except that so many smokers that I know are such selfish, inconsiderate people. They have no regard for where their second-hand smoke goes or who it affects. They have no regard for how badly they pollute the air and the ground around them (by casually flicking their discarded cigarette butts without even so much as at least stomping them out afterward). It turns my stomach every time I look in the East River here in NYC and see the sheer number of discarded cigarette butts polluting the water.

No... I'm afraid that people like that would only find something else to annoy others with even if we did eliminate cigarettes.
