I'd like to meet yous all face to face someday.

Last Mego get-together I was ever at was Megocon 2004 but I met so many new cool people since then on the Museum.

Megocon seems so long ago and ancient now.

I am pretty shy, so it takes me a while to get to be friend with someone.

I met a few MM people at toy shows, for just a quick chat. All nice guys!

I did make friends with a few internet folks back when I was an avid tennis fan, we would meet up at matches mostly the US Open.

I do want to go the Mego Meet someday -- hopefully next year....

I have a few good friends that I've met on forums. My good friend and current roommate and I met on a forum.

There's a folks I'd like to meet on this site and consider "real" friends one day. So far I've only met samurainoir face-to-face, but he's a real jerk in real life.

I KID, I KID!!!! He's actually one of the nicest dudes I've ever met and I had a blast hanging out with him!

The weirdest part to me is once I've known someone online for a while I build a sorta character of them in my head - like, I read their posts with a certain voice - and then seeing them in person and hearing their real voice is usually kinda shocking for me!

              >I'd like to meet yous all face to face someday.

I'll warn you ahead of time about the oddly placed body hair....

I've never met anybody from online in person, so make of that what you will. There are definite connections with online folks, and that's real.... but it's not quite the same. I don't know what too many folks look like, sound like, mannerisms.... Although that's not exactly new for me: I've never met my friend Jeff Wood in person. I used to read his comics when I was in high school and started corresponding by regular mail long before the internets. (And most of the folks who post on his site are likewise people I've never met, but who's comics I've been reading for decades.)

MegoMeet shows me every year that the friendships are real. Even now that I post less frequently, I keep up with many of you on Facebook, and feel real emotion when something significant happens, like Jim's recent episode shows.

I have seen many people here more than I have my closest childhood friends in the past 8 years, and we try to get together every year or two, but I've spent over 3 weeks with 7 members in particular just by going to Mego get togethers.

I also have gone to the past two Coachella music festivals, and camp with a group of people I met online. Those relationships also blossomed online, and now I socialize frequently with a group of fellow festival goers from the Phoenix area.

The internet has become an ice breaker in life, leading to friendships, marriages, even arguments that bleed over into the "real" world. Pretty real life to me.

There are several of you that I consider real friends, especially after going to my first Mego Meet last year. Everyone was nice, but there are some people I felt genuinely connected to right away after corresponding through the Museum.

The great thing about our board friends is it's like a pen pal. odds are you will never meet but you have a relationship. I can talk about my geek stuff that my wife just doesn't get. Would I like to meet Mikey, Earth2 Chris, Chalwa, and Wee67, sure but life makes it hard to even think about a road trip.

I started writing letters (yes, letters!!!), to a fellow Godzilla fan in Vegas in 1996. We then started e-mailing, and met in 1998, when I came to Vegas. We've been great friends ever since (I've to the States twice, he's been to Europe twice), and we call about every 3 months to catch up on things.
First time he visited, he brough me a Star Wars Dewback from the Hasbro 12 inch line. That thing is about 30 inch long, it's massive. if that isn't friendship, I don't know what is...

Next time I visit the States, maybe I could meet some of you guys and girls?

I also have a deep meaningful friendship with a woman called Svetlana in Poland. She says she has many, many friends, and that all I need is a webcam and a VISA card. I wonder why that is?

I only actually see many of the people here at the museum once year at the Meet but would consider many of them friends. On a different level, I've been involved with promoting models online for 10 plus years and sometimes I've formed friendships with the girls. It's a similar situation in that I may not see them often but when I do it's like no time has passed. What I find is if both parties are being genuine online and click, they will easily become real life friends when they meet in person.
