Did the Patriots win the game? Well, that's what the score indicates, but the real story was how the Ravens lost it...plain and simple. I'm not blaming the refs here. If you put yourself in a position where the refs can make or break you, that's not the refs fault, that's YOUR fault. The Ravens gave the Patriots the chance to win (where they didn't have to) and the Patriots took full advantage, as any team should.
What IS becoming apparent to me is the hole the Patriots are digging themselves by chasing this undefeated season business. As previously mentioned, the end game is a Superbowl win and the Patriots better start shoring up the starters once home field is acheived. If they don't, they will lose and lose huge in the playoffs. Injuries are beginning to take their toll and their veterans are showing serious fatigue because EVERY team is really taking it to them. No one can question the fact that the Eagles exposed the Patriots on defense and teams are following suit. It's simple - Keep the defense on field and their offense off and you have a legitimate chance. Without play time the Patriots' offense can't get in sync and the defense fatigues. The problem is the Patriots have played teams that are declining. If those teams can keep games close, imagine what a really good team will do in the playoffs? Indy knows this and their starting to shore up their key players. At this stage I see the Colts beating the Patriots and heading into another Super Bowl.
No worries though. I'm not a Colts fan (like my wife). I'm a diehard Cowboys fan. Been one longer than Mego's World's Greatest Superheroes have been around, so that tells you something. We're getting better every week and more importantly, we're healthy. Six weeks ago I would have feared facing the Patriots in the Super Bowl, now I WANT to face them. But I believe it will be the Colts and we'll handle them with no problem.Romo is awesome! I even have diehard Steeler fans telling me no matter how much they hate the Cowboys, they can't help but like Romo. He's a good person and a grounded one too. I think no matter what your favorite team is, you respect that.
