That's terrible!
We got burgled in 2008 (when we were sleeping), but our dogs chased them off.
I know it's an awful feeling....

I am glad you are safe Sharry. Just my two cents on identity theft programs, Lifelock being the most popular. Read the fine print before signing up and Google them as well. You will find out some interesting info. Basically they are not worth what they charge for their services. They don't do anything that you can't do on your own. They set up blocks on your credit reports so that you have to be contacted and verified before anyone can give you a loan. However, you can set those block up on your own for free. They also have credit reports sent to you from the three major reporting agencies, again something you can do yourself for free. The one very misleading thing they say, and which is detailed in the fine print, is the insurance. Lifelock offers $1,000,000 in insurance against identity theft. HOWEVER, what they only tell you in the fine print is that they will only pay out if your identity is stolen due to negligence on their part, meaning they neglected to put the blocks in place or get the reports sent to you. Which they are not going to neglect to do. Your identity can still be stolen and you can be out bucho bucks, but they will not use their insurance to cover you unless they forgot to do something in their plan, which they will not forget to do. I signed up for Lifelock several year ago when we caught somebody going through a dumpster during our kitchen remodel and I had some papers in it that I was worried about. I have been trying to cancel the service for some time now and I can't get through to them to cancel. Every time I choose the phone option to cancel, I wait on hold for a hour and then get disconnected. When I choose regular customer service, I am told I have to call back and get to the cancellation department, but I can't get to them. So, as far as I am concerned, these identity theft programs are a scam. Just be careful if you decide to sign up for one.Comment
