I Have Draped A Black Hanky Over My stunt Cycle - RIP Evel Knievel
Wow I loved him during the 70's and always enjoyed seeing his Legendary jumps.....I was one of many kids that had his stunt cycle and had hours upon hours of fun.......R.I.P
OMG! I'm beyond words. I can't believe he's gone. I've played w/ his toys, watched him on TV, told my class about him. I'm just stunned. Quoting the article, you really don't expect Superman to die, even though you know it's coming. I'm so sad right now. RIP Evel, you'll really be missed.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I know that I'm very lucky to be alive. For 35 or 40 years I've spilt my blood and broke my bones and spent years in hospitals.- Evel Knievel
He is the first person I completely expected to die before my eyes on live television. I can remember that awful feeling in my throat every time he cracked up. It amazed me that I only saw him successfully land two times, but watched him crash or fail many more times. It wasn't so much the jumps that were inspiring, it was his willingness to come back, sacrifice and lay it on the line for little apparent reason, especially given his track record.
Evel was also one of my heros when I was a kid. I mean the guy had the biggest Balls of them all. I was in shock when I heard the news. It is a sad day for me for sure.
