Front porch or back deck

In the UK anyone sitting in front of the house would be deemed to be very strange, they would recieve very funny looks from people passing by, i certainly can't remember myself or anyone else for that matter doing it.

We have conservatorys, patio's and gardens to sit in but they are all at the back of the house.

Putting in a massive deck this summer. Already have the privacy fence. Next year I'm attaching a gazebo to it for an outdoor whirlpool.

So very true! Well it will be approximately 20 X 38 based on what we're looking at right now. Built in benches (and railing) as well. Hey, anything I can do to eliminate mowing, sounds like a plan to me. If I can justify something from there, I'm all for it.

We have a deck around the pool, so that's where we usually are...Besides, the front porch is way too small to sit on, just steps up to the house

We are backyard people. We spend almost every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings back there from mid April to end of September. Last weekend, I put together my daughters' new swingset. I got an awesome gas grill two Christmases ago.

Okay around here there are basicaly 2 types of neighbors,the ones that hang out on the front porch and watch the comings and goings of the world.The other type hides from the world enjoying the back deck cooking on the grill in private.We are deck people,private and quite enjoying time away from the nosey prying eyes from down the street.So where are you planning to spend your summer time ?

You hit the nail right on the head. Between three locations depending on what time of year it is. All back decks including two Oasis and one very big lake. We are private people and we like our privacy.

Nah, they're real, they have shutters and blinds, but the owner is kinda neurotic when it comes to maintaining his house
