    Best pizza in your area?

I just had some Chicago-style pizza from Zachary's...friggin' delicious...the best deep dish pizza in the Bay Area...

Kung Food Panda: Zachary's - The best Chicago Deep Dish Pizza in Nor Cal (Berkeley)

Zachary's Pizza 150 best pizza awards San Francisco Bay Area Oakland Berkeley San Ramon CA Restaurants

They also sell "thin" slices...but they are the thickest thin slices I've ever seen...lol...

My brother likes Zachary's too, but he always gets the same kind. Canadian Bacon w/ pineapple.

Anyway, before they closed down it was Four Star Pizza. Best New York style pizza around. It used to be over on Lake Park where Lanesplitter's is now. BTW, Lanesplitter's SUCKS!

Here, I'd say Arris' Pizza. There was a pretty good Imo's a couple blocks from here, but they just closed, unfortunately. Best wings I've ever had.

I truly adore Zachary's up in Oakland/Berkeley. Went there as often as possible when I went to school in Santa Cruz. And on all my road trips up and down and left and right, I always managed a stop at Zachary's. I have a Zachary's T-shirt, naturally. And I once had my in-laws pick up a half-baked deep dish (the only kind I would even think about ordering there) and drop it off to me in LA after their visit up north. I know that I've waited at least an hour to get a table in there. It's just really THAT good. I couldn't find a deep dish pizza in Chicago that I liked better.

        I sure do miss it!

In the meantime, there are a few worthy choices in my area.

Man, I'm glad you know of Zachary's...we are truly lucky they are here.

Yes...the half-baked deep dish is the way to go if you wanna take it down to LA...

...and speaking of a Zachary's half-baked pizza...I have one right now in my fridge...

It's a pepperoni/mushroom...and it's going into my oven tomorrow night (Saturday)...

A little pizza place called Doughboy's about 300 feet away

Their entire menu is NY style pizza and beer

It don't get better than that

BTW, most REAL pizza places here in the east stick their noses up at Chicago style (which is fine with me)

                      I love thin New York-style pizza...but I love Chicago-style as well.

Giovanni's across the street from us, its NY style. No Chicago style anywhere around here. :(

For us, the thinner and greasier the better. Fricano’s is our local favorite. Better get there early; by the time the doors open at five, the line to get in will be down the sidewalk,..rain, shine, snow, or hail.
