Ford Motor reports $2.6 billion net income

This is their strongest first quarter in 13 years. I am not really a Ford man but I do find this fascinating that this company appears to be doing well in such turbulent times.

Ford is recouping it's investment in it's infrastructure and selling off the excess divisions when Gm and Chrysler were running their companies into the ground

Mustang sales can't hurt any either

And is any of this profit going back to repay the bailout funds? I don't think Ford accepted any, but what about the others?

Every car I have ever owned has been a Ford. Has been, is currently, and always will be.

I've had my Mustang for 3 years, and about 11,000 miles. In that time, I've had the oil changed 3ish times, I've replaced a wiper blade...and that's it (knock wood). Ford makes a decent car. I got rear-ended by a SUV at pretty low speed, but there wasn't a mark on my bumper. Go Ford.

Currently I drive a 97 Ford Probe. At has had a few problems over the years but it's a solid car imo. Especially after over 120,000 miles.

What surprises me with that list,is there are no Toyotas on that list. You figure with all of the problems they had.
