two bad experiences with purchasing off of two members.

    Hi,

Since I have begun adding to my collection with the use of the market place. I have been in the situation of paying for a number of items and after more than a month never receiving my purchased goods. This has happened to me twice with the mego members megoRu and DARTHTYRANUS, has anyone else had this issue or have dealt with either member before? I am on a fixed income and I wouldn't want to be put off buying from other online members.

I hate to state the obvious - but you're in Melbourne Australia, right? From my experience a month or more for packages shipped economically (by boat) seems totally normal.

But normally it only takes about two weeks at the latest, I paid for the purchase from DARTHTYRANUS over six months ago. In the time since, I have received a large number of parcels from overseas. I have been waiting for the parcel from megoRu since the 8th of March and in that time I have received other purchases from the states off of this forum.
I have attempted to contact both members without any reply.

Yeah; that's kind of long. Stuff shipped by boat would usually take 3 months or so.

USPS hasn't shipped by boat since 2007. I don't think anyone does anymore.

Most things get here by air within 10 business days.

I believe other people have had problems with Darthtyranus too.

It just annoys me how some people can rip other people off. It's great using paypal, as you can have your money refunded if such a situation should occur.
But most people on this forum are some of the nicest people you can meet.

^ I am glad you can maintain that positive attitude...it's true there are some really fabulous people who hang out here. Home away from home.

Yes, Sadly there always has to be a bad apple in every bunch to try and ruin it for the others.

When I shipped a few items to Australia it took about 7-ish days

                  Good luck

Thanks, but I doubt that I will receive any of the items. The longest time one item has taken for me to receive was roughly 10 days or so.

I cannot speak for the credibility of either member you are having trouble with. However, as a whole the museum has time and again produced the best Mego deals I have dealt with. Yes, there is always one or two bad eggs to spoil the bunch; once again, I have not dealt with either member so I am not saying they are bad eggs.

My advice is do some background checking in the forum before making any deals. Search on a persons name and see what kind of dealings they have in the museum. If you do not feel comfortable then move on. The Museum is by far the best site to hang around, you will never find a better group of people. I hope a couple sour deals does not run you off.

                        I didn't know that.

To be honest the only reason I even said anything was because I got my first negative on ebay from a customer who lived in Australia. This was years ago though and I didn't know things had changed. He wanted the cheapest shipping method - which at that time was by boat - and had no tracking or insurance. We exchanged a couple of emails where I reassured him I sent it (what else could I do?) and after a month he suddenly decided to leave negative feedback on my account. Literally the next day he got the package and emailed me apologizing.

Everything I've sent to Australia afterwards was insured and paid for faster delivery - so I didn't know everything was air delivered now.

Anyway - I have never bought from those two guys, but every other transaction I've done on here has been a dream. So that stinks - but I'd say don't let it ruin the Museum for you!

Same here. I ship to Cat, Kosta and other friends in Oz all the time. Never takes more than 10 days. As a matter of fact, I'd have to say that out of everywhere in the world I ship figures to, (Japan, Canada, Singapore, UK, France) stuff gets to Oz the quickest, hands down.

Yeah, I've had issues and have dealt with DARTHTYRANUS before . Apparently i donated some money to him over 3 months ago. Bought a DVD and never received it. I know at least one other member had the same experience with him on the same for sale thread. I was eventually promised a refund, but guess what....... yeah, i never heard from him again. You're probably not gonna see your stuff from DARTHTYRANUS. Just stay away from him in the future. I see that he hasn't posted in a while, maybe he's moved on. But, he's liable to show up in this thread at some point, spewing a lot of crap about this or that and giving a long line of excuses for why you haven't received your item..... but whatever..... he's done it before after being called out and it didn't help then. At this point, BUYER BEWARE of him.

You won't be seeing DARTHTYRANUS around these parts again.
