For me my dreams have simply evolved and adapted. My ultimate goal in life is simply to entertain. I know thats a very broad stroke but its the true. If I can make someone laugh via radio/tv/print, I'm gold. If I can work the crowd and rock the stage (this one doesn't happen so much anymore) I'm platinum. If I can look back at the end of my run on this planet and know that I did my best and everyone I met along the way enjoyed their time with me, then I'm diamonds!

I'll never stop dreaming, chasing the dream or dream building.

So long as I don't get hit by a truck.

Hey Jim, For what it is worth you are entertaining to me.

Just be sure to look both ways before you cross the street.
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

Thanks for the bittersweet story jds. This is not that sort of car project, but if I hang on to it any longer, it will be for my own kids. No, I happened upon this Bonne as I was working on a GTO project (also unfinished) and decided to hone up my engine rebuilding skilz on it before I tackled the goats powertrain.

To date, neither one of them are daily runners and the Bonneville is just taking up too much space and has the least possible return on investment for me. If it was a family car, I would just cover it up and forget about it for another decade, but I am truly needing to jettison some of my unfinished business in order to accomplish the many projects I have set out for myself.

I knew using the word 'dream' in the title of the thread was a little heavy. It is not that I considered myself the world's best hotrod builder and I needed to show my stuff. I just like to tinker and many times my eyes are much bigger than my wallet or my watch. There are nine vehicles in my barn in addition to the two cars we drive on a daily basis. I think it is time for me to thin the herd so that some of them can get back on the highway before gasoline is banned and they all become the red barchetta.

if the project is an investment it may not be worth it but if it's for you and you have an emotional attachment to this car (as oppossed to just wanting a 63 Bonnevile or catalina) like it was a project you took on with someone special or the car of a loved one it's probabyl worth keeping despite the possible costs.

when i was 18 my grandfather had this beat up 77 el camino and I joked with my brother "you know he's going to leave this heap to us and we'll spend the next 30 years fixing it" he the truck died 4 years later and he went 2 years later. when he passed I almost wished he still had that truck for me to have that connection forever. My brother still has the last car he owned (a 96 dakota rwd) and we would never get rid of it

good luck with it should you decide to continue

Dude...you have gone where I can only dream.

Because I actually attended film school at San Francisco State (first time I've said this here)...but for some insane and inane reason...I switched majors to Mass Communications and Liberal Arts...then mingled into Zoology...I was really clueless...didn't really know what to do in life...I have many regrets...lol.

You stuck to your guns and passion...that's why you are my hero...
