True Fans...Devoted Fans...Older Fans...whatever you want to use to describe the fans that love the purity and simplicity of the sport(s)...maybe that is a better way of saying it.

The fan that likes the feeling that ANYONE can make in sports without having to shoot-up.

...but...those types of fans (myself included) just shake their heads in disgust.

If you're a current/modern fan that enjoy the sport(s) regardless...that's fine...but for me, the 'Awe' is gone.
Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!

      I like Buster Olney's take:

MLB: After walking away from Tampa Bay Rays, Manny Ramirez has last laugh - ESPN

I'll say this...who better to have on your team than Manny in a contract year? The guy would do *anything* to put up the numbers. What more could you ask? Cheat? No problem. Taint your legacy? No problem.

As far as I'm concerned, baseball is as much or more a sweet science as boxing. The difference between a good major leaguer and a great one is minute. I think Manny had the tools to be very good on his own, and the drugs gave him that extra something to push him into the stratosphere just like Binds and McGuire. If you're 38 years old and still dominating at the major league level, you're either a rare freak of nature ala Darrel Green or Hershel Walker, or you're a cheat. With all of the comments from spring training about how strong and fast he looked after going in the tank last year, I can't believe anyone is surprised that he was juicing again.
