Wow, I think Polar express is the best Christmas film ever! Me and the wife know it's Christmas when I pull that dvd out of the Chistmas storage.

My favorite used to be a Chistmas story until Polar Express came along. I can't believe people think it's that bad!?

When I'd heard a film version of Mars Needs Moms was coming out from Disney, I was stoked! A Berkeley Breathed (Bloom County, Opus, Bill The Cat) book being made into a movie? AWESOME!

Then I saw they were using motion-capture, instead of riffing off of Breathed's artwork:

I was disappoint. Zemeckis still can't grasp that most of the audiences aren't into motion-capture films, or that it puts people off. I do think, IMHO, if they went with Breathed's visual style for the characters, it might've gone better.

No interest at all in seeing this - I'll re-read the book instead.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

OMG.. I would LOVE to see a 'Bloom County' movie with Opus and Bill the Cat.

I'm still trying to secure a decent vintage 'Bill the Cat' doll.. Man, the nice ones always seem to stay expensive.
              Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.

That style of animation would best be suited for a "HEAVY METAL" Type movie.
