        The Ipcress File

The Spy Who Came in From the Cold.

        Dr Strangelove

        Gorky Park

any 50's sci fi movie, they were all about American paranoia.

I always considered Star Wars a propaganda anti-communist movie. The evil empire vs good.

I thought that - then I watched it about a year ago with my 16 year-old sister-in law. She had no clue about the nuclear threat - and was really confused and amazed by this movie. Plus, it's way better than a typical 80s teen movie - in my opinion - and has some great performances.

Remember the guy who invented it ?

I think his name was Falcon

When the script was in it's early stages John Lennon expressed interest in playing Falcon.

                          That would have been neat

I can't even watch the sequel to War Games. It just seems to dumb.

You know - I'm not usually nuts on musicians taking on movie rolls - but I can actually see that one working.

I really liked the guy who played him. John Wood (I had to look up his name), an English character actor who's been in films since the 50s. Dabney Coleman was great, Broderick was great - Ally Sheedy was hot back then.

Overall - I think it was pretty sharp for a kids movie.
