Yeah, besides RUSH, I was into The Scorpions, Judas Priest, Van Halen, AC/DC, etc. I stayed away from "my" bands and picked odds and ends tunes that I listen too constantly. Late 70's and early 80's rock and heavy metal is the era I am stuck in. Stadium rock and hair bands, BABY!

I am still and 80's Metal fan. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Riot, AC/DC, Ratt, Dokken, and so many others. The music still speaks to me and does a great job of turning a bad day good.

Right on....I can feel a few of these, sure...

Here are a couple more personal favorites:

GREAT memories of FLYING through the streets of Port Jefferson, Long Island in my brother's Mustang.....pitch dark and this song BLARING...felt like I was IN space!

Great tune here. Bailey carries the song for the most part, and his break-down is sooooooooooo funky....

April Wine - Sign of the Gypsy Queen
That brings back memories! Mostly driving my 68 Camaro way-to-fast back in the day with songs like that one blasting thru my speakers.

You guys know I'm all about the 70s, but the 80s had some good music too. Some of my faves were about BOP!

                  Cyndi Lauper- She Bop:

                  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFq4E9XTueY

Rick Springfield- Bop Til You Drop:

                  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLnu8SzOGfs
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Good lord, I don't even know where to begin. I'll list the best of the best, but I'm sure I'll forget a few.

Journey/Separate Ways - Hands down my favorite song ever put to record. Every time I hear it it's like a Seinfeld moment. It's "my song".

Triumph/Somebody's Out There - RIk Emmitt fanboy here. Love the vibe of this tune.

Styx/Mr. Roboto and Don't Let it End - Dennis DeYoung is the man, period. My favorite vocalist in any genre.

Kansas/Chasing Shadows - I wasn't thrilled with Elefante replacing Walsh, but dude has pipes. Cool heartfelt song.

Now for the hard rock and METAL list

                    Dokken - Kiss of Death
Queensryche - Walk in the Shadows and Eyes of a Stranger
                    Fates Warning - Anarchy Divine
DIO - Rainbow in the Dark, Holy Diver, We Rock
Rainbow - Street of Dreams, Stone Cold

Just a small sampling of my bad taste in music.

                    Scott
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

                      Good stuff!

PMWasson - I like that tune myself, love the Talking Heads.

HardyGirl - I was actually going to POST She-Bop! Cyndi's ode to ma....well, we all get it I'm sure. We saw Cyndi a few years back in NY....she was awesome...She is like an ageless nymph..

Cat - Me too, my wife LOVES Annie Lennox.

                      Here are a couple more...

I love Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young....they are one of my favotite bands of all time. Although this first one isnt "80s music", it still fits the 'theme'. I always thought that THIS song should be played at some point in a Superman film. If I had the skills and the tech know-how, I'd make a YouTube video of various scenes featuring Chris Reeves set to this song....close your eyes and picture it, you'll see...
"It was one of those great stories that you cant put down at night...the hero knew what he to do, and he wasnt afraid to fight.."

                      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=072EdkKdlKQ

...And this one needs NO 'explanation', its simply a masterwork from master musicians in their prime:
"She is all that I have left, and music is her name..."

Some of the BEST lyrics EVER here....and a DRIVING beat....much respect:

                          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQccK0F1_iY

Between all of my siblings and friends, there must have been TEN copies of this album in my house at any given time....This is one of my favorites of his...man, what a GREAT summer....Vicki Bevins moved-in next door and...well...anyhow......This tune is Soooo Smooooooooooooooth:
(When I went to StonyBrook years ago I took an interim sociology class and we actually discussed this at great length. My professor seemed to believe that, in light of recent 'events', that this song was basically a "cry for help" or a "warning"....he went into great detail about the lyrical content and all....but meh...I dont like to over think it too much...)
