HELP please from the pros - going MEGO shopping today!!

As luck would have it, I have the thrilling privilege of going through a (small) box of Megos this afternoon! The owner of a local comic shop is friend of my wife's, they went to high school together, he gives her free ToyFares and other crap. She was in his shop the other day, and he mentions out of the blue to her: "Oh...hey...doesnt your husband collect the Mego dolls? ...Tell him I found a bunch in the back...mostly DC stuff..." Those were his words. I am not expecting to walk in to a goldmine, stuff like that RARELY happens to me, but hey - you NEVER know, and its one HELL of a THRILL for me for sure!!

Heres what I need from you 'seasoned' guys and girls please - Which are the 'RARE grabs'? I'll list the ones that I learned of in my short time here:

    -Teen Titans/Alter Egos
    -Black AJ
    -Later Marvel characters
-Spidey with 'circle design' on chest
    -'Fist Fight' figures
    -Non-US figures (Ledy, Palitoy, etc.)
    -Robin with no mask painted-on
    -????

    WHO else?

This is very THRILLING for me....sure, its GREAT getting packages from folks here, and via E-Bay as well, but to be able to physically DIG through a bin of Megos...shudders...fumbling....well....this best describes exactly what happened when my wife told me the news:

Assuming they are loose the other one not on your list would be a Removable Cowl Batman. Always fun getting a first look at figures. I probably buy them all.

But let us know what you find.

Of course, gloves and belts, and Supergirl shoes.

Maybe there are MEGOlike items in there, as would be common in an OLD
BOX find. Bone up on Tomland and AHI.

If you have a smartphone, I'll give you my cell number to text an image to me.

If I were you, (depending on the cost of course) I'd buy it all. Keep what you want and sell the rest in the marketplace and spread the wonderful 70's love butter.

not to burst the bubble, but you may not want to burn any bridges if'n this fellow is a family friend. It is one thing to get a great deal from a stranger, but if you forget to mention that a solid box supes is a high end piece and pay $5 for it the seller may get a bit peeved if it comes back to them that you resold that for a bundle. just sayin'......

                      ^ EXACTLY!!

                      I can see it now:

Comic guy: "So..you want any of these?"
                      (opens Mego box..)
Me: "Homina homina..uhhhh...kaff...uhhhh...HERE please..take it ALL!! (hands over wallet)...I own that red car out there as well...uhhh...cough...i-i-is that Conan there?.....say, y'know my wife here is a GREAT cook...she can also....(SMACK)"

Rche - My "bubble" bursted in the summer of 1987! lol You are correct there sir, I'm not out to 'take' anyone at all, nope....but loose/incomplete figs for $5-$15 each would be delicious!
This is a good cat, has known my wife's family for 30+ years....I'm certainly not going to offer him $20 for a carded Romulan...no way, no how.. Now, a greasy sleazebag-type flea marketeer that does business like Jabba/Watto, has his mail-order bride working the joint, and sets off my spider sense, you bet - I'm going in for the $2 Bionic Bigfoot. Decent, kind folks that are fair and honest, you bet - they are a pleasure and I'd never attempt to deceive them.

Just buy the whole lot if it is a good deal. If it ends up that you end up with something really rare and didn't know it, you could always go back and give your friend some additional money since you didn't know either. That way it's a win/win all the way around.

Right . . . which is why he should share the extras love for what he paid for it (that didn't come out quite right) here at the Museum

Grab even stuff you might think is junk .... example ... Mary Ellen Walton is widely used in many customs, so she's great for trading.
