What did you think of the beard?

Yeah, Sandy was sporting a trimmed beard...I too have a thick five o' clock shadow going on...but it will be shaved soon...I prefer the goatee look...

I was in the video store on Tuesday and they were playing clips from "Hunter Prey" on the multiple screens around the store. I wanted to shout. "Hey, the guy that directed this is an awesome Dude!!!".

    Congrats, Sandy!

I am so glad you got to go, Hec! In the back of my mind, I suspected you would find a way and I wasn't surprised to find that you did.

You got a good friend there, Sandy.

That's why I mostly avoid driving there...and take BART instead.

I should have swam to Frisco. Then the parking wouldn't have been such an issue.

It was a VERY cool event. The house was packed and they even had to bring some folding chairs and bar stools into the theater to accommodate all the people. I gotta say, it was great seeing such a good turnout for my little films. It's good to know that my grass roots approach, not only to the film-making itself, but to the whole marketing and press angle I take with the fans, is yielding some fruit. I said it at the event; I'm always so happy, grateful and surprised that anyone even comes to these things at all to be honest. The films are so small and so low budget compared to what's out there. It truly warms my heart that the work I put into the films and the efforts I make to be at screenings like this, is appreciated by so many.

I didn't take any pictures. I was kinda tired from the drive and didn't even remember to bring my camera. I promise I'll do that next time and post up some pix.

The Q&A was one of the best I've ever done. The questions were all so good and the audience was very engaging. We pretty much covered everything from pre-production to distribution on both BDE and HP. All in all a very interesting and exciting evening and like I said in the other post, seeing Hector there really made the night for me. His warmth and friendship, not to mention his enthusiasm and excitement for the films (even though he's seen them all several times) was just so awesome. Sharry, Jess and Scott were truly missed, but abalone season opens in a few months, so something tells me I'll be up there again soon!

FINALLY home. Man, I'm tired... But I don't go the extra mile for my fans, I go the extra 864 MILES for them! Gonna grab a few quick zzzz's before I go workout, then when I get to the studio later, I'll post more of a proper account of the awesome evening. And yes, Dave... Hec made my night. It was the most awesome things seeing his smiling face in that theater! Love ya big guy!

glad you made it, Hec. I was thinking of dragging the kids--but I figured that it would really screw up their schedule. I'm excited that it went well for Sandy. I would really have loved to see the two films with a committed crowd.
