Totally agree. I gave up on Guitar Hero awhile ago, Rock Band plays much better. I still play Rock Band 3 and Beatles Rock Band on a regular basis, never get sick of them.

Several years ago the kids couldn't have cared less but now they're very intrigued and interested in the fact that I play guitar. And they think alot of these classic rock tunes are "cool" now, because they're part of the game so they come across as relevant instead of just "old man music", lol. They don't know that "Carry On Wayward Son" is over 30 years old, and that's just fine with me.
Definitely! Kids today are playing songs from the 60's, 70's and 80's and love them. My four year old son loves rock songs from this era and I attribute this to him watching (and listening to) me "play" them on Rock Band. The other day, we were in Walmart and he caught "Daytripper" playing in the store speakers. He then says to me "Hey Daddy, they're playing The Beatles!"

I could never figure out why they would release games like this for the DS.

We ran an ad a few years ago that went something like "you won't get a 2nd date for your ability to play mouse guitar" or something like that....along with an older teenager holding a Les Paul. We also used to have Guitar Hero contests with the winner receiving free guitar lessons. It was always a good segway to get kids to jump from playing virtual guitar to the real thing.
