If you were caught with gum in your mouth, she would make you wear on your nose the entire day, get caught shooting a spit ball...she would make you sit in at recess every day until you filled a mason jar with spit (no kidding). I remember she even had a stool in the corner and a dunce cap!!! It seems unbelievable that she got away with this type of stuff but she did. Sorry to hijack the thread...the gum thing made me think of this particular teacher who doled out big punishments that were always made to embarass you.
How many times did you have to fill up the jar or wear the dunce cap?
Too many toys. Not enough space!

Oooh..... we used to make our own cinnamon toothpicks. That little bottle of concentrated liquid cinnamon was some potent stuff! Sometimes the toothpicks came out a little on the hot side .

This thread brought back some memories........... everyone remember Pop Rocks!

I'm not asking a trivia question...just want the answer. There was a movie or tv show where a female elementary school girl made mention of having some candy in her pocket (gummy bears?) and them being warm or something along those lines...I'm banging my head trying to think of the movie.
That was the end of Ferris Bueller when the principal was on the bus next to that nerdy girl.

I remember smuggling in Pop Rocks. Other then that, I don't recall doing it all that much.
                  It's all good!

Back in the 1970's, all of us little league baseball players had a pack or two of Now Laters in our pockets. That was the kid version of chewing tobacco.

Green apple and Watermelon were my favorites, but I wasn't too picky.

                    5 cents a pack in '73.

                      Great call...that was it.

As far as spit balls...never got caught shooting them but did have friends who sat in class during recess spitting in a mason jar. I also never had gum on my nose but also remember some people wearing it. I do have a vague recollection of sitting in the corner with the dunce cap but have no memory of what I did to deserve it. I also remember this teacher shoving kids into closets as a punishment and claiming there were boogey men inside....no kid would be that naiive today but we were all really scared. I know some people feel that this is what they wish would happen but can honestly say I was very scared as well as my classmates who I found out were as equally scared from talking about this teacher recently on facebook with them.

Certainly gum. Usually Hubba Bubba, Bubblisious or Bubble Yum.

Also Pop Rocks, Moon Dust and UFO's.
