Common experiences you've never had

There are times when I see something on TV, or I'm here on MM, and you guys are discussing something, and although I know what you're talking about, or what it is I'm watching, I've never done it before. Here are some examples:

1) I've never been in a science fair. Heck, I've never done a science project. I've taken science, and done experiments in class, but that's it.

2) I've never lived in a HOUSE as a kid. So I've never had a treehouse, or swingset or a backyard. (I live in a house now, but it's just not the same).

3)I've never done fundraisers for school. I did one once for my dad's girlfriend's school. I sold chocolate bars.

4) I've never been in a school play.

5) I've never played or tried out for any sports related activity.

6) I've never gone outside on a snow day. According to my mom, if it was too cold and dangerous to go to school...well you know the rest.

7) I've never owned a Big Wheel, Green Machine, Krazy Kar, or any other plastic ride-on toy.

8) I never went to kindergarten in public school. Kindergarten was in the same place, just a different classroom as my nursery school.

9) I never had themed bedroom (til now)


That's really all I can think of, but you get the idea. What are some common experiences you've never had?

My school never had them.

2) I've never lived in a HOUSE as a kid. So I've never had a treehouse, or swingset or a backyard. (I live in a house now, but it's just not the same).

I grew up in a house (rented) and had all of the above

We used to do them every year ... mostly car-washes

Yep, did that many times LOL

5) I've never played or tried out for any sports related activity.

Me neither ... only what I HAD to do in gym class

6) I've never gone outside on a snow day. According to my mom, if it was too cold and dangerous to go to school...well you know the rest.

Snow days were the best for outside fun

7) I've never owned a Big Wheel, Green Machine, Krazy Kar, or any other plastic ride-on toy.

I had one plastic car back in the day, but it wasn't a name brand.

8) I never went to kindergarten in public school. Kindergarten was in the same place, just a different classroom as my nursery school.

In the sticks our schools were K-8th grade ...

9) I never had themed bedroom (til now)

Me neither, though I did have a lot of mixed then current posters (Bruce Lee, Steve Martin, King Kong (76), etc.

1. I have a good one ... As a kid my mom would not let me get a mini bike because it was "too dangerous" ....... BUT, it was ok for me to have a rifle and a shotgun

I've never eaten Macaroni and Cheese. I get teased about it at work...but you have to understand I grew up as a 1st Generation Italian American. Both my parents are from Italy...we never ate that much fast food in my house. And BTW, Spaghetti and Meatballs is an American dish...not Italian. You can go region by region in Italy and you won't find it as a dish that originated in Italy.

One day I'll try Mac and Cheese...just not today

There is a big difference between homemade Mac & Cheese and the Kraft stuff. We only get the homemade at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Nope. My primary school didn't have a music program either.

I was lucky to have been brought up in a house that had originally been my grandparents'.

Chocolate bars, licorice treats, Christmas Cards.

4) I've never been in a school play.

Grade 4. The play was called "Christmas at Fort Edmonton." I was an Indian Trader Captain. It was a speaking part. Think Magua in The Last of the Mohicans.

Ummm... Canada... Snow days are kind of normal for 5 months out of 12.

Didn't do kindergarten either. By the time grade 1 started I was pumped for school. I felt so mature. I couldn't believe that there were kids who were crying when their parents dropped them off at class. I was so stoked, and so ready for the experience. Crying about leaving my Mommy? Pa-Leeze...

The best I ever had were posters. Hockey posters...

I never went to Daycare. My Dad's grandmother stayed with us to help take care of me for a while. My mom either cut back or stopped working when my brother was born. She went back, but I don't think it was ever full-time. I think that the other times they needed someone to watch us, we just went to the neighbor's or a family member's house.
I also never had a big wheel, but that's because my mom said I was over the weight limit to ride one:( I did have a bike though.

I've never shot a gun with bullets (never been hunting). I've shot a bb gun but never a real gun. I have used a bow and arrow.

I have driven a motorcycle, a motorcycle with a sidecar, a quad, a go-cart, a tractor and a snowmobile.
