Common experiences you've never had

I was a "late bloomer", so I went on my first date when I was 25. We've been together ever since, and very happy together.
But I do miss never having gone through the experiences most people have before finding their life partner. Seems like I skipped a part of life. But then again, maybe I just skipped all the heartaches?

I also wish I had learned to swim.
During my first lesson, the teacher decided "throw him in at the deep end and he'll swim". I nearly drowned, and have been hydrophobic ever since. Oddly enough, I would love to learn how to dive...

I've never learned how to drive either. My Dad was scared of so many things, and never taught me all those skills. I also have very bad reflexes. So maybe it's best I don't drive. It would be like "there's another car, it's coming nearer, nearer, KABUNK!!!!"

But one day, I will learn to drive and swim. Hopefully not in close succession....

I've never been locked up. But, as Jim Beam is my witness, as a kid in my early 20's I flirted with it quite frequently. I have only my best friends to blame...for covering my back. Oh! And I have never smoked. I think playing football made me leery of consuming anything that would take my breath away. Loosing balance? No problem...

I just thought of one more, I never had a babysitter. I had older siblings to do that.

I only ever had one babysitter. Anyone remember basket player Sam Bowie? He and his sister used to babysit me when I was a wee one.

I'll give you one thing I have never done that you might not believe. I have never been intoxicated. EVER. I never drank, smoked, did drugs, nuttin. Not that I claim to have been a saint or anything. I did more than my fair share of trouble making, just never felt the need to get drunk or otherwise. I guess I am more afraid of not being in control of myself and doing something I would regret. Never did like the taste of alcohol or beer and I really don't like smoking. Now you know my shameful secret!

I've never swam anywhere but a pool, and even then I wouldn't call it swimming.

I've done it a few times when I was a kid driving dump trucks around the farm, but as an adult I never even tried.
