I was going to say Seattle...but not after reading this thread I'm from NE Ohio, so that would be one place, close to family ect. My wife and I have in recent years begun to really liked Nashville. While I'm not a coutry music fan at all, I really liked the people and that area.

I originally from Long Island, NY (Patchogue) so I might consider going there.

But I really love Orlando, FL. But nothing near southern Orlando, Kissimmee and the attractions. My favorite part is downtown. I would like to have a house in the Lake Eola area.

Actually there's a whole cluster of towns in south jersey about 2 hours away I'd pick over where I am now. With the amount of towns in such close proximity there's so much to do and more seems to be added every year. An old school arcade is the latest addition in Burlington, NJ. Can't wait to check out it next time I'm there. Unlike where i am now where you can almost count on something cool/fun disappearing every year.

I'd probably choose just about any city in Europe over any city in America

    Reasons are simple...

high speed internet in the city.
    Large US Ex-pat population.
I speak castellano (Castile Spanish, not to be confused with Catelan) but most young folks speak english.
    FedEx and UPS deliver there.
    Land is cheap.
My folks were born there, so I can petition for citizenship without much of a hassle.
cost of living is SUPERcheap. I almost bought a penguin as a pet there for a C note!
quality of life is good (if you have money.)
retirees from the US live like kings there.
medical care is universal and at US standards thanks to British influence.
weather is onpar with Northeastern US (with reversed seasons of course).
    US citizens have protection there.
Uruguay also has the lowest crime rate in Latin America...

Yeah, I've done the comparison online of my Home State of Maine...and Seattle, and they're about the same...so no big change for me there. But you have no state tax right? Which means when I retire in 4 1/2 years...my Pension won't be taxed by the State.

Either Trumsol, Norway, Minneapolis, or Souix Falls. I have relatives in all three. I live just a boat ride away from Seattle, but I only get over there once or twice a year. Sci-Fi Museum/EMP are pretty cool. I always try to hit Golden Age Collectables when I'm there. Too bad Lusty Lady closed. Some of the stuff they would put up on the marquee was entertaining reading. Funny that it was located across the street from the Seattle Art Museum. Go figure.
