    So yeah, no playoffs for my G men, because of one word;

    Turnovers.

When Eli stops throwing interceptions and Bradshaw learns how to hold on to the ball, they'll get in the playoffs.

I'm a tried and true Giants fan. Have been my whole life, and I agree with you. I've never really liked Eli. He's incredibly inconsistent. Compared to Rivers and Roethlisberger, he's definitely the weakest of the 3, no question. He's only 29, so he's got a lot of growing and developing to do... We'll see how it goes, I guess.

Coughlin is a good coach. He's no Parcells, but then again he doesn't have the roster that BP had either... He's doing the best he can with the team he has. Between all the injuries and crap like the Plaxico drama, I'd say he's actually doing pretty good.

That being said, I'd LOVE to see the Jints get Cowher... AND a new QB.

10-6 is not a bad record to get to. I'll trade Coughlin for Sporano any day.
          It's all good!

Hey, the Seahawks don't set the NFL Playoff format rules..they just played within the structure. Also, the Hawks didn't take the Giants playoff spot...so, Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Seahawks!

It will be interesting where he goes but they were one of the teams on his short list. As for a new QB there is no way. Too much was invested in him.

I'm not big on Coughlin. Of course I'm a Pats fan so everyone gets compared to Bill Belicek in my neck of the woods. Not many play the strategy game like he does. I do like Cowher, or at least I did last time he coached. He's old school but I'm not sure he has the strategic ability to survive in today's game.

I think that's why you see a lot of first time head coaches being given chances. There's a change taking place and owners are starting to notice. You can't just be aggressive anymore you need to be cerebral as well.

The only thing I don't like about Coughlin is he's a sour puss when it comes to losing. And he likes rubbing it in when he's winning. But as a coach that CAN win, he's the best the Giants have had since Parcells. They would be nuts to give him up.

Yeah but Coughlin was on the chopping block before they went on that run. If they had not done what they did he would never have been extended after the 2008 season. If Romo doesn't throw a pick in his own end zone, or Favre doesn't throw a pick with under 2 minutes to go, or Brandon Merriwether could have caught a ball thrown directly at him and let it slip through his hands, that miraculous catch that led to the winning TD, would never have happened and I believe they would have let Coughlin go at the end of the season.

                          J,

I'm not saying it's Coughlin's fault... Eli is an overrated or should I say "overliked", insecure, kid who STILL doesn't have any self control whatsoever about throwing the football, and Bradshaw fumbles the ball WAY too much. I just don't like Coughlin. His attitude sucks... Living in NY during the Parcells, Phil Simms, LT, Harry Carson heyday, going to all the home games, I just got used to that synergy. In my opinion, the Giants haven't hit that same stride since the mid 80's... Even when they had Strahan and Tiki, who I thought were great... Just my observation.

Nice to know the Packers have wild-carded to the playoffs.. Most likely will get stomped by the Eagles next Sunday, but such is life.

Unlike our Super Bowl playing in the mid-90s, if we even get to the playoffs each year, it's still a nice feeling.

I'm happy with Eli, and OK with Coughlin. I agree we wouldn't have gone far in the playoffs, but I do think we would have beat Philly in Philly in the wildcard round (just my feeling). We need to keep doing what we do best, drafting big linemen and hoping the receivers keep developing. Eli had an ungodly interception rate this year, but that was largely due to young receivers tipping balls to the opposition with frightening frequency. I don't know what the heck to do about running backs that are unable to hold on to the ball, even Tiki had that problem for a while, but he managed to largely overcome it. If Bradshaw and Jacobs could manage that, we'd be in better shape.

There is no shame in 10-6, its better than most, and better than some playoff teams. Sure, I'd like to get back 7:28 seconds of inexcusable football this year, but considering the injuries and the loss of some serious talent, it was a good year made disappointing by some ill timed lapses.

Jeff Feagles contributions the past few years can't be dismissed, his leg was worth a game or two won by superior field position. If Dodge can learn to punt on an angle, then he could develop into something great, but I'd have 3 punters in spring training to challenge him for sure.

It amuses me that people dismiss the Giants every year as if they will be riding the cellar of the NFC East when they have consistently been near or at the top of one of the toughest divisions with Eli and Coughlin at the helm. Keep on underestimating us folks, I prefer to be the underdog.

Did you guys catch the press conference a few weeks ago where Eli is standing around with his hands in his pockets waiting for the press to show up. And then when ONE guy kind of reluctantly shows up, Eli steps up to the podium with this "let's start the conference" look on his face? That was priceless, I was laughing my $$$ off.
