I'm not embarrassed to admit anything. I love Shaun Cassidy, Michael Jackson, The Beach Boys, The Archies and DISCO!

Hey, I have always dug Tom Jones. My Zep head buddies always get a good laugh about that, but hey screw em.

I like "Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats. Its on my home made cd called "Cheesy 80's". It also contains "the Outfield" (love their only album), "Men at Work", "Echo & the Bunnymen", and music from the 80's teen movies (Breakfast Club soundtrack, Pretty in Pink, etc)

^^^Dude, The Outfield has more than one album.

Stuff I used to like that is embarrasing now, The Hooters, Tears for Fears, Men at Work, ohh, sure there are more, but my nearly 41 year old brain forgets.

My music collection runs in many directions... but the one genre that earns me a few chuckles here and there is: showtunes.

I particularly like Andrew Lloyd Webber penned broadway musicals.

I have a little bit of everything in my music collection. But the most embarrasing artists I have would probably be Helen Reddy, Barry Manilow, Barbara Streisand, Tony Orlando & Dawn, The Partridge Family, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Milli Vanilli.

BTW - Why is Tears for Fears embarrasing? Their last album "Everybody Loves A Happy Ending" is fantastic. Roland & Curt put aside their differences and reunited for this one. Roland had carried on without Curt for the past several albums. They didn't end in 1985 like most of those 80s bands, too bad US radio doesn't play the newer stuff. Much like the band a'ha who have put out at least 7 or 8 albums since they had the hit "Take On Me" in 1985. They were great then, still great now!

And if you haven't gotten the Eagles new studio cd by now you don't know what you're missing! 2 disc set at Walmart for 11.88. Worth it, worth it, worth it!

Love the Beatles, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Jim Croce, Eagles, Paul Simon, America,Loggins & Messina etc, etc, etc. I'm not embarassed about it, though. I don't like too much new stuff. Listening to Boston right now. By the way, I like the Carpenters, Bread and KISS, too!

Hey, thanks to Quentin Tarantino, I can get by with my love for Stealers Wheel.

You won't make fun of me because you know there is a chance I will cut your ear off and soak you in gasoline.

I've been thinking about this thread for awhile and I have come to the conclusion that all of you are like me. You like what you like and if people would be honest enough to admit it, music requires no other justification.

What the heck, Brian is from Canada and likes Roger Miller. I'm from Oklahoma and like Gordon Lightfoot.

I started to post this in the 'Rock Geek' thread and realized it was more appropriate here.

I love showtunes -- not just the ones that rock like Hair, Grease and JC Superstar, but also the jazzy ones, like Chicago and Cabaret, and the classics like Sound of Music and Wizard of Oz.

Also, my wife loves Disney musicals, and it's hard to resist her enthusiasm for them. Sometimes we sing songs from 'Aladdin' and 'Beauty and the Beast' together. I don't mind people knowing, since I'm pretty secure in my masculinity, that I enjoy songs composed with 7-year old girls in mind!
