I just watched a cool show on ESPN about QB's with a roundtable discussion and some great interviews. Got me thinking about the best I ever saw. I felt the need to make a list. Keep in mind, these are the best I personally have witnessed.
Dan Marino - My favorite all-time football player I think. I loved his leardership and his fire. He grabs his receiver's face masks and gives them hell when they drop balls.
Steve Young - I loved his mobility, heart and class.
Kurt Warner - An inspiration. Career numbers are above average, but he's so much more than the sum of his parts.
Joe Montana - Maybe the most accurate passer of all-time. His confidence and poise make him a legend.
Brett Favre - I'll ignore the last couple of seasons, but he had so many ways to win with the Pack. His career TD to interception ratio is actually worse than VInnie Testaverde, but nobody can question his toughness and will to win.
Peyton Manning - I may be witnessing a top five QB watching him play now. Hard to say what the future holds, but he's a leader on and off the field. He's someone you'd want to play for and with.
Aside from Manning, I'm still waiting for a contemporary QB to really grab me. Brady is a terrific QB, I just don't like him for some reason. He's a Big Ten guy, so I should. Weird.
