    Damn...I missed it!

I caught a couple of episodes and to me, it is the most interesting of the lot.

I appreciate the skill and imagination that Dude brings to the table when he and his crew do a restoration. I love seeing a rusty, busted, overlooked nothing returned to its original glory. They put a lot of research into getting it just right, but they put a few touches on a restoration that makes it even a little better than what one can imagine. More of a spirit of the item accentuated by a clever, small touch that puts it over the top.

All of the other shows are built around the premise of "we bought it for $x and made $xxx". I'm not against anyone making a buck or two, but his show features the "this is what it supposed to be" that I love.

(To be fair, I like seeing those segments on Pawn Stars where a "helicopter in a box" or a Shelby Cobra body becomes a restored version and conversely, when it is all said and done on American Restorers, they show how much the item appreciated as a result of the restoration, as well.)

Given the projects I've seen you take on along these lines, I reckon you'd dig it the most.

That and when you hear about people and how long it took them to get said item, then he comes along and tells them "you gotta sell it."

Yeah, like the one I watched yesterday where he tried to get that guy to sell his two "grails"...an Action Comics #1 and the original Santa & Rudolph puppets from Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.

                wow...never saw that one!!!

All those dudes on pawn stars seem like yoyos....the old man and his bald son do seem to know their stuff though...I just don't like how they react to counter offers, especially when they are fair ones. The grand son and his dough brained buddy I could do without. The scripted banter can also be tedious.

I do not understand why some of these people, when they find out they have a "treasure", will not elect to leave the pawn shop and contact an auction house....or simply try to sell it them selves.

Yeah, that really does seem strange.
